Re: [CinCV] Transferring cinelerra.org

2013-10-18 Thread Rolf Steinort

Hi,

I can take over the domain and pay for it. I use Cinelerra a lot, this
could be my contribution to the project.

For your background check: I hold and manage already the domains for my
project meetthegimp.org and for the Gimp Magazine gimpmagazine.org

Other than doing the domain and nameserver stuff I can't help much,
perhaps offering webspace for the homepage if the downloads are hosted
elsewhere.

Can't afford it. Looks like the .com .net .org names are going to be

Subject: Re: Transferring cinelerra.org

The cinelerra.org http://cinelerra.org domain is about to expire,
so I need to know who to transfer it to.

Since I'm no longer really involved in the project, and haven't
been for years, I'd like to transfer the domain to either Adam or
the current leads in the unofficial version.
If Adam is not on this list, does anyone know his current email
address?
Who is currently leading the unofficial version (or who is
maintaining the web presence)?
Thanks,
Richard

Ciao!

I'm having problems following the CinCV mailing list because the

Great!
Would that cover also the technical maintenance?

That depends on what is to be done. I keep Wordpress, a DokuWiki and a
SMF-Forum running and up to date. And I take care of the domains and the
nameserver entries.

I closed the forum and the wiki to self service registration - it was
too much SPAM. It's now e-mail and ask. Works well, but keeps perhaps
some people away.

So it would include all the above stuff and perhaps more if it is easy
enough to learn.

I am responsible for the server where the cinelerra.org website (and

Currently there is no lead or admin for the webserver. Since some time
I am planning to write some Angry Mail about the current situation of
the cinelerra.org server to the mailinglist, in recent years hermanr
covered the expenses (about 11Eur per month meanwhile), but the server
is now in debt for some time. It would be nice if some people will jump
in here and donate some money to keep the server running.
