But what about the routing updates that needs to be multi casted between the two
OSPF routers.

Don't pass any info from the ISP inside. Use the PIX as your default gateway
for outbound traffic and on the PIX point the default to the inside ethernet of
your Internet router. On the Internet router point to your ISP. Very standard
practice.

RE: Static, Conduit question.

2000-08-11 Thread Abdul_Mateen

I think with ur configuration u have enabled only Inbound. The same neexds to be
enabled for Outbound as wel with NAT and Global configuration pair and Outbound
(Optional).

Try these and give us the feedback

Hi,

I suppose these aren't the real addresses and the real addresses are
valid ones what actualy you did hear is allowed every one to reach those
addresses, but you need to disable the nat with NAT 0 command or if these
are the real addresses to use static nat statments.

   I hope it helps..

Subject: PIX: Static, Conduit question.

We have an ip address(a.b.c.d) registered with an internet domain name. This
domain is served both as our email and website domain. We have one internal
web(192.168.1.222) and one internal mail server(192.168.1.223). I have a
question about the pix configuration below.

static (inside,outside) a.b.c.d 192.168.1.222 netmask 255.255.255.255 0 0
static (inside,outside) a.b.c.d 192.168.1.223 netmask 255.255.255.255 0 0
conduit permit tcp host a.b.c.d eq www any
conduit permit tcp host a.b.c.d eq smtp any

Is this the right configuration for the pix to redirect the appropriate
traffic to the internal servers?

Any response is greatly appreciated.

Subject: PIX Upgrade from 4.4(1) to 5.1(2)

Hello,
I was just curious if any body have any problems when upgrading the pix
software from Ver. 4.4(1) to 5.1(2). When I performed the above upgrade
traffic would no longer flow through the pix. I could ping it from inside
but I could not surf out. Also from outside I could not surf into my
website.
Any suggestions, thoughts, comments would be appreciated.

Thanks
Ronnie John

Re: BGP4 implementation

2000-09-05 Thread Abdul_Mateen

Hi Elmer !

Just u need to configure the community filtering at RouterA as

RouterA # neighbourremote-as xxx
RouterA # neighbour send-community
RouterA # neighbour route-map abcd out

route-map abcd 100
 match ip
 set community no-export

These set of commands will tell the RTB not to export the routes learned frm ur
AS to its other external peers. I hope this will cmet ur configuration. Pls
update me if u find better alternate solution.

Subject: BGP4 implementation

Hi, group.
I need some help on filtering BGP4. The scenario is this: my routerA is set
up
with a T1 to routerB via static classB address. However, RouterB is also
connected to other clouds running BGP4. I do want users in RouterB cloud to
get to my network, but I don't want the other clouds that connect to RouterB
to get into my network. The simple questions are: is it just a matter of
RouterA
using ACL to allow only RouterB? Is it telling the NetAdmin of RouterB to
modify his route-redistribution config so no routes outside of RouterB's
cloud
gets sent to my RouterA? Are there any other issues or configurations I'm
better off implementing? Thanks as always to all kind responses.

Elmer

Re: alarm lights on tsu puzzle

2000-05-19 Thread Abdul_Mateen

Basic testing approach shud be as follows
1. U need to test the 64k physical pairs (2/4 pairs ) are working fine . this
can be achieved by testing the line impedance using multimeter. If you bert
meter it will be ideal to test the line
2. If the line is ok, then check the configurations and check the alarms. If
possible change the
 modem pairs.

I have a 64k point to point ckt running from point A to Point B with Adtran
tsu on each end connected to the telco's dmarc with a straight through
cable. I have alarm lights on both tsu's. both are properly configured as
our other tsu's are. here is the puzzling part the telco says they can test
good to THEIR dmarc at both points A and B but cannot see our tsu's on
either side. I have tested both of the straight through cables that go from
the telco dmarc to the tsu and both are good.
any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
