Metric in static routes? [7:50108]

2002-07-30 Thread Diego Rissone

Is there a way to configure a metric to a static route?

One can configure the administrative distance.

I have a situation where i want to have 2 routes in the routing table , one
learned by eigrp and the other a static one

the problem is even if i configure the ad of the static with 90 , only the
static is installed in the routing table because it has a lower metric than
the eigrp learned one

thanks - Diego

Sanchez

is right what you said

but one thing is the administrative distance and the other is the metric .
my concern is with the metric itself. as far as i know the metric can´t be
modified for a static route

Re: Metric in static routes? [7:50108]

2002-07-30 Thread Diego Rissone

yes chuck what you said is the only solution i implemented to this issue

it´s tweaky but possible . one must take in account not only the feasible
distance ( or metric ) of the distribution but also to set the
administrative distance to be 90 for this specific operation so the router
installs both routes

2002-07-30 Thread Diego Rissone

really i need to have both routes for load balancing
the problem is that only one link runs a routing proto and the other not

i agree with you folks that the term metric of a static route is strange but
i have no other term to describe the situation

RE: 2505 - error erasing flash - write protected? [7:50013]

2002-07-30 Thread Diego Rissone

i run a similar problem a couple of months ago

try this

install the 8mb flash simm that have the ios image you want to boot in the
first flash bank and put the second flash simm in the second bank.

delete any file that resides in the second flash simm ( i can´t remember now
if once must delete , erase or delete erase the second slot of flash file
system)

doing this you would end with a contigous 16 mb region of flash and from
there you can do a copy tftp flash to upgrade the ios beyond 8mb

hope it helps - cco has no info in this issue - the problem i notice is if
your new 8mb flash has a file stored on it

Re: show process cpu and the interrupt value [7:49954]

2002-07-29 Thread Diego Rissone

The % of interrupt cpu is due to all interrupts being issued to the cpu .
for the most part this value is due to an interrupt context switching method
( fast , optimun ,cef, netflow , etc) and also accounts for the usage of
interrupts in the first part of a processs context switching method ( i.e
process switching )till the packet is placed in the ip input , ipx
input, etc queue time where the interrupt is relinquish
