Which is more common - OSPF or EIGRP?

Hi

I am wondering which routing protocol is more common in the industries -
OSPF or EIGRP ?]

i am trying to implement some routing protocol on my HQ with several (20+)
branches (with only 1 router in each branch) using hub-and-spoke design.

I am wondering which protocol so i use? OSPF or EIGRP ?

Is there a limit on the number of areas that one can create with OSPF?

Any help will be appreciated. Thanks

***** HELP: NAT Question ***********

2000-10-15 Thread GNOME

Hi

Pls see the following sample config

int serial1/0
  ip address 200.10.10.1 255.255.255.252
  ip nat outside

int fastethernet 0/0
  ip address 172.16.0.1 255.255.255.0
  ip nat inside

int fastethernet 1/0
  ip address 201.0.0.1 255.255.255.0
  ip nat inside
!
ip nat pool provider 203.100.100.150 203.100.100.180 netmask 255.255.255.0
ip nat inside source list 5 pool provider overload
!
access-list 5 permit 172.16.0.0 0.15.255.255

Question 1
if someone access a server (201.0.0.2) coming into Serial 1/0, will the
router translate the destination ip address?

Question 2
Like wise, if the return traffic from 201.0.0.2 going out from Serial 1/0,
will the ip get translated?

Personally i feel it will not but i have been getting funny result like when
outside do a NS Lookup the server, he will get some IP address from the NAT
pool.

If i don't put "IP NAT INSIDE" at Fastethernet 1/0, when i try to ping (for
example) from 201.0.0.2 going out from Serial 1/0, seems like cannot ping

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Help needed on MRTG on SQUID

2000-08-28 Thread GNOME

Hi

i am tring to monitor SQUID using MRTG and i have faced some problems

when i do a./mrtg proxy.cfg, i gives the following error that
"cacheServerRequests&cacheServerRequests:public@localhost:3401" cannot
resolve the names

i think mrtg doesn't have the MIB files which translates the name to the
OID.

Does anyone how to get MRTG to recognise the names? or u have OIDs for those
names?

Any advice will be appreciated.

Comment for: Appropriate to share Exam expereince????

2000-09-10 Thread GNOME

Hi
Just wondering...is it appropriate for one to share cisco exam
experience?

Personally i feel it is good to share experience as alot of ppl don't really
have the experience of the actual exam. So once u have advice from others, u
will not be so nervous during the exam as u will know what to expect like
fill-in-the-blank, drag-n-drop etc

However, will it degrade the certification value

Nevethesness, one should also be well-prepare as you don't want to get the
cert only but also the knowledge so that u can apply in your work :)

Regards
