2002-07-04 Thread Holger Eichhorn

Hi,

who have experience with wireless bridging over etherchannel to collect
more than 2 wireless lines to one line?

Best regards, Holger.

Wireless with 22 MBit [7:47743]

2002-06-29 Thread Holger Eichhorn

Hallo,

we want to connect to buildings over wireless with 22MBit.
The target is:
Connetion between 2 different wireless-lines to use 22MBit. The
encryption is realised with IPSec (Pix-to-Pix). Etherchannel (command
"port group") bundled the 2 different wireless-lines to one line with
22MBit.

---[PIX (IPSec)]---[Switch 3548 VLan11]-[BR350-a1
(root)][BR350-a2]---[Switch 3548 VLan11]--[PIX IPSec]---
[Switch 3548
VLan11]-[BR350-b1][BR350-b2 (root)]---[Switch 3548 VLan11]

The configuration:

- IPSec works fine
- The wireless line "a" is on channel 1, has a SSID A and a WEP-Key B
- The wireless line "b" is on channel 13, has a SSID C and a WEP-Key D
- The option to search unused channels is disabled
- Bridges works with the new Firmware 11.21

The problem:

All MAC-addresses are to see on all etherchannel-ports on the switches
3548. And this is a problem for the etherchannel, it is not working.
We found out the wireless lines are not on different channels. They send
packets over all channels.
(All thinks works fine in different situations: IPSec works fine between
2 PIX, Etherchannel works fine between 2 switches. Wireless works fine
between 2 Bridges). If we build all together nothing is working perfect.

We don't understand this situation.

I hope you have a hint for me.

It would be fine you send me a email in cc: .

Best regards, Holger.

Which statements ?
On our router we have following statements:
logging trap debugging
logging facility local2
logging 192.168.X.Y (it is a syslogserver, but not the ciscoworks-server)

Thank your for your help.
I have installed all stuff and I have connect via browser.
At this time I have not enough time to read 5 manuals. I'm looking for a
cookbook, where
I find fast-solutions, like
1. look into site X and press button Y and Z and you have a basic
configuration for an
autodiscovery of your network or so
2. ...

Do you understand ?!

Cisco-Switch: IPPort [7:9693]

2001-06-24 Thread Holger Eichhorn

Hi all,

I have a lot of Cisco-Switches and a lot of workstations and sersers on
the switchports. If I use the mac-table on the switch then I find out:
which mac-address is on which port. With this information I find out:
which IP-Address is on which port.

Do you have an idea to create an automatic (daily-) table:
IP-address A.B.C.D is on switch-port X.

A linux-syslog-server for switch-logs is available.

Thanks for your help.
Regards, Holger.

Re: print config

2001-03-26 Thread Holger Eichhorn

1. You need an tftp-server (search on www.tucows.com or www.cisco.com)
2. use the command "wri net" on the cisco-router and write the config in a file like
"router-config.txt" (the same command is "copy run tftp")
3. edit or print the file on your tftp-server with an editor or wordpad ...

Regards, Holger.

I don't give up.
What can I do with my VIC-Card (sorry, I have a voice-card, not a WIC) ?
I think, the VIC converts the ISDN-call to an analogue-call. And I have to use the
modem on
the voice-interface to bring the analogue signal through the modem and the AUX-Port
into the
router. Or not ?!

I have an (Euro-)ISDN-line. In basics the router can't handle analogue callins on an
ISDN-line.
My idea was:
1. Analogue callin goes to the BRI-Interface
2. BRI send it to the WIC-Interface
3. The modem is mounted on WIC and on AUX
=> the callin goes from WIC through the modem into the AUX
4. The result is: I have an analogue call on the AUX-Port. To configure an analogue
callin on AUX-Port is not a problem.
I don't know is it possible.
