How good is the routing book isbn# 1-58720-20-001-5 by Clare Gough? I have just purchased this book for preparation for the 503 test. First of all: I worded the subject space that way because I was unsure if the word B is banned here or not, so that was to be on the safe side so this would go through to the group. My question: Are the above tests for switching close to the exam type questions that appear on the prometric. I have both switching exams and have been using them for practice examinations. I guess I will be first. I am also memorizing and studying in hopes of passing my switching exam with no experience. I currently work for a very small company with ten 95 computers and 15 or so unix machines on a unix server. My main job is to unsnag people who lock their computers up and to print reports. But, I am studying for my tests. Hopefully one day, when I finish I can gain some real networking experience. In the meantime, I am learning the unix language and have learned great self restraint of the defined art of self control when wanting to strangle users. You just keep plugging away, but, noone I don't think would ever say that practical networking experience is not a valuable asset to have..it's just that some of us don't have a choice. But you don't quit trying. CCNP ?? [7:4789]
I have a question or two. I am in the near future planning on taking the CCNP switching exam. My question is this? How through is the test compared to the sybex book? Will that, plus the boson tests prepare me adequately enough to pass the test and in addition to the edge tests that are included with the book? Also, what are the main areas covered? I am NOT asking for specific questionsbut generalities only. Something like VLANS were a large portion of the CCNA exam. I am suspecting that rp's, switch types, commands, pim sparse and dense modes are the main portions. Or at least this is what I am getting out of the sybex book. Did you know that you can update your boson tests to version 3.67. It adds a cool feature that lets you test by category plus it updates your questions, example I just created a pdf with all bgp questions from the bscn test I bought. Just email this guy [EMAIL PROTECTED] with your serial numbers and he will send you back new unlock codes. You also have to go to their site and down load the new testing engine. Oh by the way, Chad is working on his last test for CCNP then he is going for CCIE so he understands what we are about, not just a sales man with no clue. At the top in the File menu tree you can print each question. The print operation doesn't ask you where to print, it just uses the default printer. So, create a new printer that prints to file (local printer - Generic) and make it the default while you're doing the questions. Not very elegant actually as each question will overwrite the last one saved. So keep windows explorer open and rename the output each time. Unfortunately, graphics won't come across too well. So if you own the Adobe Editor - it installs the Adobe Distiller which is another print to file operation but you get to keep all the graphics and its in .pdf format. So you can't dump an exam but you can get all the info you want one by one if you're patient. Switching Exam 504 [7:2513]
Hello, I am getting ready to test on this exam in a couple of weeks. Would someone please tell me or give me some information please. Right now to prepare, I am using the Boson switching tests and the Sybex book. I have also read the CLSC book by Cisco Press. I know it is outdated, but it still have alot of very very good info.
