ISDN Issue [7:29337]
Hi all, i have a router setup to receive isdn calls from windows clients using TA's. All the UK clients can connect but the france clients can't. with the debug isdn q931...i can see RX - SETUP but my router doesn't answer. i also see the v120 and low layer compati message. CCO says for me to get the v120 message means my router can detect v120 encap. i need tips on what could be wrong and how i can solve the problem. also sometimes the UK clients dial, connect, get issued an ip address from my dhcp server(my router) but a windows error message then comes up 'error xxx: cannot open port' .it takes a reboot of my router to resolve this issue. thank you for ur anticipated response(s). regards, John _ Join the worlds largest e-mail service with MSN Hotmail. http://www.hotmail.com Message Posted at: http://www.groupstudy.com/form/read.php?f=7i=29337t=29337 -- FAQ, list archives, and subscription info: http://www.groupstudy.com/list/cisco.html Report misconduct and Nondisclosure violations to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Re: ISDN Issue [7:29337]
how would i tie the physical interface to i dialer configured for france...i configured legacy isdn and i used ip unumbered. this is my bri config int bri0/0 ip unumbered loopback 0 encap ppp ppp authentication chap callin tei-negotiation firstcall dialer-group 1 ! ! this is all i can remember nowi'll paste the rest of the config tomorrow. From: Nigel Taylor To: John Kale , Subject: Re: ISDN Issue [7:29337] Date: Sun, 16 Dec 2001 11:22:32 -0500 John, My first thought would be to see what would happen if you called the router from a regular phone(i.e from france). Does the router answer? We make use of some TAs as well and when we were testing out the circuit to verify if the ISDN switch type and SPID info given to use by the ISDN provider was correct we just used a regular pots line Since your UK office can connect it's safe to assume that your ISDN configuration (SPID, switch-type) on the router is correct. Another thought is to make sure you have the physical bri tied to a dialer(configured for fracne) so that the call can be answered. I'm not sure but this could be a problem if you're using caller-id on any part of the router configuration. Post the configs of the router and any debugs you have of the circuit when the call is being received HTH Nigel - Original Message - From: John Kale To: Sent: Sunday, December 16, 2001 12:08 PM Subject: ISDN Issue [7:29337] Hi all, i have a router setup to receive isdn calls from windows clients using TA's. Re: ISDN layer 2 issue [7:28013]
what i'm trying to say is that normally either multiple_frame_established or tei_assigned is displayed but in this case i have the 2 displayed at the same time like this =multiple_frame_established =tei_assigned =tei_assigned looks like a bug or something. From: Priscilla Oppenheimer Reply-To: Priscilla Oppenheimer To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: ISDN layer 2 issue [7:28013] Date: Mon, 3 Dec 2001 18:18:56 -0500 Multiple_frames_established is a good state. It's what you want to see. TEI_assigned is a good intermediate state. It means that the terminal endpoint identifier has been assigned, which is a good thing. But the state should progress to multiple_frames_established, from what I understand. On the other hand, in a DDR environment, if the link goes idle, you might go back to TEI_assigned and that is not a problem. It just means no data is going across. [7:18335] Hi Everyone, For those who are interested in learning Cisco PIX but do NOT want to spend a lot of money on buying an expensive PIX Firewall, I think I can help you. I have instructions on how to build a PIX firewall by using a PC. In case you didn't know, PIX firewall is essentially a PC with multiple interfaces. I've successfully built several PIX firewall using my old PCs (i.e. pentium 200 MHz processor). Actually, the PIX1 series (obsolete I know) is a PC with Intel EtherExpress Interface cards. However, you must have an account with CCO in order the software and download the software. The rest of the instructions on how to build a PIX firewall using PC is very simple. Anyone interested in learning it, let me know. Mike __ Do You Yahoo!? Get email alerts NEW webcam video instant messaging with Yahoo! Messenger http://im.yahoo.com [EMAIL PROTECTED] __ Do You Yahoo!? Gre tunnel - ip and ipx packet loss -URGENT!!!!!!!! [7:8190]
hi all, We run a gre tunnel between sites across an isp network...sometimes we lose connectivity (ipx mainly and somtimes both IP IPX) but the show tunnel and show interface commands gives an up, up status. The only thing unusual is that the show int f0/0 commands reveals a rising number of packets deferred. what does the ' deferred' signify and can anybody pls come up with tips on making this tunnel a trouble free one. regards, John _ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com.
