回复: Creating Multiple Interfaces on an Ethernet Port

2001-02-22 Thread Johnny Sun

Hi,
In fact, you can add several subinterface on a physical fastethernet port of
a router with these subinterface encapsulated ISL or Dot1q,and give each
subinterface a IP address. Many NIC can support 802.1q or ISL,so you can
devide the physical NIC to several virtual NIC encapsulated ISL or
802.1q,and give each of them ip address, the defauft gateway ip of the
router's subinterface.

Re: 4 Ethernet Int

2001-02-22 Thread Johnny Sun

Hi,

Use "Cisco 3620" plus two "NM-2FE2W" module,so you get 4 fastethernet ports
and 4 wan interface card slots.

But in fact I often use Cisco 3662 for its performance. For Cisco 3662 has
225MHz CPU,while 3640 100MHz and 3620 80MHz.

Check your configration of the router,if you have not give the router a
password for telnet in,the router would not let you telnet in.The router
should have been configed as:

line vty 0 4
password cisco
login

re: 2 ISP's

2001-03-04 Thread Johnny Sun

Hi,

I want to say, without your own AS and use BGP,you cant do the load balancing
with only one router. One router only permit one interface with "ip nat
outside",this is the problem.I've do the load balancing to two isp using one
pix and two 3620 router,in which two 3620 do the job of nat.You can use
"default-network" plus dynamic routing or link the two 3620 and config
policy routing on them.

Regards.
