RE: NM-1E2W Module

2001-02-06 Thread Jon Wagner

For a complete list of every module and it's requirements, you can find out
at
http://www.cisco.com/go/modules

Every module is listed under 'solution finder' and it contains hardware &
software requirements for each module.

well I've been having a running commentary with Cisco for the last
few days about what is and what isn't supported on 2600s..

If all you need is an additional ethernet then the NM-1E= would do it.

There is also a 4 port ethernet - NM-4E= (but pricey)

Colleagues,

I am currently trying to multiplex / bind 3 parallel T1 clear channel
circuits.
The circuits will be terminating on a 7206 router on an 8 port multi
channel T1 card.

My question is how do I bind the 3 T1s together to get the total aggregate
bandwidth of 3 T1s.
I have only found info on Inverse multiplexing for ATM which is not what I
am trying to achieve.
what I have is strictly 3 Point to Point T1 circuits using PPP.

RE: E&M port to PBX, busy tone [7:9949]

2001-06-26 Thread Jon Wagner

Under the voice-port configuration, change the wait-wink timing with the
timing wait-wink command. What is probably happening, is that the router
isn't waiting long enough for a response to come back from the PBX. This
will give the PBX time to respond to the routers reqest for an open DS0.
My config looks something like this:

voice-port 1/0:0
 timing wait-wink 5000

I have a problem scenario as:

I am having a Cisco 3662 router, having 2 port E&M
VIC. I have configured the E&M port with the required
parameters from PBX, like type 5, signal immediate and
operation 2 wire. I also have created a pots dial peer
for this E&M port which is connected to the PBX. The
PBX make is Alcatel and the code configured on PBX to
seize the E&M on router is hash symbol and 76. But
when i dial this, i get the busy tone, i should get
the tone from router. So can anyone help me??

I believe that the part number is WIC-1DSU-T1. But try this link and  look under useful tools, you will find a solution finder that will list the modules and their requirements.

Hey everyone,
I've been looking for a part # but can't seem to find it..

So in the 2600 series, there is a wic avail. that is t1 w/ csu/dsu
built in. This allows you simply to make a rj-45 t1 cross-over cable
and connect them. Also pretty nice, is they use slarp to config
themselves.. Well, I can't seem to find an E1 version of this card.

URL's and documentation would be excellent response.
Thanks everyone

RE: 4006 Power Supplies [7:41257]

2002-04-12 Thread Jon Wagner

I believe that this link will explain everything about the Catalyst 4006
power system. It looks like you need at least 2 power supplies at minimum.
We have been running a 4006 for 2 years with 2 power supplies. So far we
haven't had any problems with them.

Jeff,
We just bought a Cisco 4006 switch. Our reseller and
our Cisco rep both told us we need two power supplies
to run it and one for redundancy. They both went on
to say the power supply is the first thing to go.
They sold me on it so I got all three power supplies.

I got the switch a few weeks ago and I threw in the
two 10/100 blades and the extra power supply. I
unplugged one power supply and it still seemed fine.
I decide to unplug another and leave only one running
just to see if it would die. It ran for 30 minutes
until I decided to plug it back in, keep in mind I
didn't have anything attached at the time.

I am guessing if you really wanted to you could get
away with one, but when your spending that much(think
it was around $14k to $15k) an extra $600 or so to
protect your investment is no big deal. I also like
the fact that if two powersupplies die it will still
probably run and I can take my time replacing them. A
good night's sleep is worth $600 to me.

I have an out-of-the-box Catalyst3548XL switch .There are no user
connections nor trunk connections on the switch...just a plain switch with a
power chord But the CPU utilization shows a consistent 50%. Can anybody
explain???

Thanks in advance,
