Because I would like pratice. I would like simulate an enterprise.

Just for understand how is make in enterprise. I don't have 100 static IP,
but, anyway, I don't have 100 server.

Example, Internet--Enterprise infrastructure

or

Multi-site Enterprise--Multi-site Enterprise...

Anyway, if have 2 DNS server, and 2 Web server, and 2 authentication server,
how make NAT/PAT?

RE: Router 827 ADSL + PIX 506 configuration [7:71059]

2003-06-22 Thread Lamy Alexandre
Right!

I want configure my 827 manually, not with CRWS. My connection is PPPoE with
a static IP. Also, I don't want make NAT on my router. If possible, I don't
want NAT on my PIX.

example:

DSL(static_ip)827--Ethernet(static_ip)--Outside(static_IP)506--Inside(static_ip-if
possible)--my Network

On my Network:

Web Server
FTP Server
Exchange Server
Terminal Server
VPN with 2000
maybe IPsec with 2000
SSH

I know, surely is more easy with DMZ, but the 506 have only 2 interface.

Thanks!

Cisco cert [7:70233]

2003-06-05 Thread Lamy Alexandre
You think that it is possible to have all certifications Cisco, and to be an
expert on all technologies?

Because I really wonder if that is worth the sorrow the CCIE in 2003,
prestige is not there any more.

Will too many resources, too much bootcamp, too many offers to become
CCIE... that give what in 5 years?

Perhaps it is interesting to have other certifications Cisco, which will
have perhaps more recognition.

In the sense that to be well recognized, several high level certifications
would be perhaps better. Because CCIE RS, the answers of the written exam
are not hard to find. Testking, Troytech, CorrectExam, RealQuestions, lot of
braindump etc... just them to retain and you have the written exam. On the
other hand, it is harder to find the answers for other certifications (CCIE
Security, SNA, CCIP etc...)

By having all certifications, perhaps one will be a truth gourou networker..

If this possible...

number of CCIE [7:70151]

2003-06-05 Thread Lamy Alexandre
You find that the number of CCIE increases very quickly? Maybe that the
value will be less.

the last year, they was 8000,this year, 11 000

maybe also because the lab become 1 day, and there is many braindump of the
written exam.

Is my PIX dead? NOOOOO!!! [7:61635]

2003-01-22 Thread Lamy Alexandre
I am in despair.

I have a PIX 515, and I think its dead. Since a bought it used, I worked on
it only 5 times.

I put the IOS 6.2 to use it, and everything was going perfectly. Suddenly,
it made an error of the type Watch dog failure.

I had to reboot. (I don't remember if I had already rebooted it since I
upgraded the IOS). But it never rebooted.

The PIX boots, the fan word, but the leds don't light up, except if I take
out a jumper.

I thought about the PSU (there is a notice on the Cisco web site, but my
series number is not there.) I opend my PIX, but while I am not used to it,
I produced a spark with the digital multimeters in the PSU.

I tested the PSU. (an electrician says it was working, and the voltage
seemed good).

I tested the RAM on a machine made for this task, and it also seemed okay. I
put the lithium batttery of my PC in the PIX to test it. It failed... I also
tried another CPU, but nothing changed.

What is strange, i that if I put the Hyper-Terminal in 115 000 8-1 material,
when it is closing, there are little squares on the console, as if it was
sending lots of current. #2687;#2687;#2687;#2687;#2687;#2687;#2687;

Even stranger, when the PIX is closed and I plug a USB cable on my PC, the 3
leds light up and stay open... As I reboot the PIX, they close...

Is my PIX dead? Is there something to do with it? I think that Cisco does
not offer a support, and that the PIX does not have a value in detached
pieces.

Money wasted for my studies...
