Network Authorization - seek help

2000-12-30 Thread NY

Hi,

Our policy is to only allow remote users telneting into a server called A through our
RAS with authorization from CSNT. But the problem is we cannot stop the users from
telneting to other servers in the LAN from the server A. We are NOT allowed to modify
the server setting to exclude the telnet service. Is that possible to solve it on the
RAS or AAA server level ? Thank you.

Cheers,
NY

RE: Proxy ARP Question

2000-08-22 Thread NY

1. proxy arp should be transparent to end
users.  Default gateway is still needed, but it's not necessarily pointing
to the proxy-arp-enabled router.
2. not
configurable for client machines.   Turn it on on routers (default for
cisco).  You can check by "arp -a" in dos, which shows the
proxy-arp-enabled router's mac address associating with any non-local ip
address.

cheers,
NY

I have 2 questions about Proxy ARP that I hope
  someone could answer for me:

  1.  Does a client machine that uses Proxy
  ARP have a default gateway?

  2.  How can you tell if your machine uses
Proxy ARP or not?  I know that it depends if it is in the TCP/IP stack,
but is there someway to tell?  Is it something that you can turn of or on
  in say, Windows NT?

  Thanks.

Is this possible? [7:38098]

2002-03-13 Thread Johnson, Richard (NY Int)

Hi All,

Is it possible to do the following.I have a Citrix server on my
internal network which has an outside address via NAT. On the PIX port 1494,
ICA client, is open and is obviously allowed to come in. The user is then
prompted for a user name and password. Upon entering this information, they
are then prompted for the pin and secure ID by our RSA server. My question
is this, as opposed to having the Citrix server prompt them for their RSA
info I would love for them to prompted by the firewall. Any ideas if it can?

Thanks,

Rich

Hi All,

How do I monitor all traffic coming out of 1 of my ports. I have a
IDS 4210 with one cable to my local network and 1 going to the 2950. On the
2950 I have a cable going to another switch where all the connections are
going to the Internet. Essentially I want to monitor all that traffic on the
other switch. I know I should be Vlanningbut this setup is so much
easier for the lower level guys to understand and deal with when I am not
around.

IDS Questions [7:44153]

2002-05-14 Thread Johnson, Richard (NY Int)

Hi All,

Just some basic questions...

Currently my IDS 4210 is setup to block and do a TCP reset when I get hit
with WWW WinNT cmd.exe Access. What else can I do to stop this? Also, I am
getting emailed upon these "attacks". But all it says is the severity level.
How do I get what exactly is being done? Lastly, Where do I find the latest
update for the IDS? Is there a way to automate the search for this on the
IDS itself?

Thanks,

Rich

Hi all,

I have a 3002 trying to connect to my 3015. I set up the group name and the
user name and it is setup on the 3002. From the 3015 icant ping the 3002
internet address. But I can ping other internet addresses. On the 3002 I
can't ping the 3015's port but can ping other addresses. If I go on the net
from my firewall I can ping both interfaces. Anyone have any ideas? The
default port of 1 is being used for connectivity.
