ISDN Problem

2000-09-13 Thread Peter Gray

>From my router having native ISDN BRI interface I am able to ping the remote
router's ISDN interface but getting no response from local ISDN interface.
Same thing is happening at the other end. I know that the link is up and
connecivity is there but I don't know what is causing this pinging problem.
Any comments!

A user from 10.6.x.x subnet needs to access internet address 200.121.x.x on

outbound 102 permit 200.121.x.x 255.255.255.255 1222 tcp
outbound 102 except 10.6.x.x 255.255.255.255 0 0

FRAME RELAY/ OSPF PROBLEM

2000-08-23 Thread Peter Gray

I have got a problem with FR Config Running OSPF. Router A & B are connected
to C & D over FR PVC but they don't have to talk to each other. It means A
connected to C & D and B is also connected to C & D. I am using FR
Subinterfaces with pt-to-pt. What is happening that sometime I am able to
ping to router C & router D subinterfaces from router A but sometimes i
don't get any response. I am even unable to ping sub-intf of Routers from
within the routers.
See sample config of one of the routers that i have:
interface Serial0
no ip address
ip directed-broadcast
encapsulation frame-relay
ip ospf network broadcast
no ip mroute-cache
!
interface Serial0.1 point-to-point
ip address 131.18.19.185 255.255.255.252
ip directed-broadcast
ip ospf network broadcast
frame-relay interface-dlci 310
!
interface Serial0.2 point-to-point
ip address 131.18.19.189 255.255.255.252
ip directed-broadcast
ip ospf network broadcast
frame-relay interface-dlci 210

This is config of router B connected to C & D and subintf of C &D are on
same subnet as subintf 0.1 and 0.2 on this router.
Is pt-to-pt with sub-intf OK for this scenario?

Any suggestions... What is the possible cause of problem?? Why I am even
unable to ping local subintface from within the router??

Thanks..

Bridging Problem using OSPF/EIGRP

2000-08-25 Thread Peter Gray

I am planning to turn-on bridging on two different routers' ethernet
interface accessing same host. On Router A I am turning on bridging on its
ethernet interface and It is running EIGRP. On Router B I will be turning on
bridging and it will take different route and use OSPF.

Is it gonna cause problem if I turn on bridging on two ethernet interfaces
of two routers connected to same APP. What route it would prefer? I guess
EIGRP cause of low route Cost.

Any input will be highly appreciated.

ThanksPeter

RE: Bridging Problem using OSPF/EIGRP

2000-08-25 Thread Peter Gray

Actually I am not having any routing or bridging issue over here cause I am
Also using SNA so I have to do bridging. The question is weather I can
enable bridging on 2 ethernet interfaces of routers which are connected to
SNA host. We are using one link on OSPF as primary. The other one on EIGRP
as secondary.
Kindly read the scenario again if u are facinf problem in understanding. Its
not a bridging or routing issue.

Thanks..Peter

I'm curious as to what might be accomplished by turning on bridging on only
a single interface.

EIGRP and OSPF are layer three. Bridging is layer 2.
Your bridged traffic dosen't know and doesn't care
what routing protocol you are using. For you to
bridge you must have a a physical link running
bridging between the two routers running bridging.

Token Ring Problem

Can I connect Token Ring Interface on my router directly to LAM Port?? I
have tried it but it shows down/down status on the router. Initially I tried

Is there any issue connecting Router directly to LAM Port?
