Cisco Instructor - CCNA Class [7:65742]

2003-03-19 Thread Robert Raver
Hey,

I have been given the duty to teach a CCNA class. Have any of you done this
before? I was wondering what did and didn't work for you? What tips you
might have. What the best way of approaching this would be. We will be
using
the Cisco Press book for the class and each student will have three routers
and a switch.

Thanks,
Robert Raver

Some of the new features will include:
-New SHIM Interface(This is the biggest)
-This will let it run with other VPN Clients on the machine
-This will let it work with DNS/WINS allot better.
-With the new SHIM interface it will support products such as NetMeeting
-It will support AES
-New authorization features(such as integration with RSA SoftID.)

DSL/Cable Load Balancer [7:59306]

2002-12-16 Thread Robert Raver
Hey,

This is a little off topic, but I have been searching for hours with no
results. There was a device featured in a magazine (Maximum or T3) that you
could plug in both Cable and DSL lines and load balance in between both. Now
I need this device and cannot find it. Does anybody know of it? I want a
simple solution to this problem. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

2002-11-21 Thread Robert Raver
Arni,

We do not have an officialy throughput rate on the 3002. However it
does perform very well. The official term we use is that it scales very
high. This being that it will send over 2 megs of traffic over a link with
3DES enabled. Please contact me if you have any questions on this.

Re: Cisco 3005 VPN concentrator issues. [7:57495]

2002-11-18 Thread Robert Raver
I would enable split tunneling for the networks you need and set the
concentrator logs up to see what is going on. I have pasted a little
dialogue below on what logs to turn on. You can probably get a good idea of
what is going on from this.

In the concentrator we go to Configuration -> System -> Events -> Classes.
Delete any classes in there right now. Click on add and under class name
find IKE, on the severity to log select 1-9. Do the same for IKEDBG. Now
find IKEDecode in the list and and select 1-13 on severity to log. Now you
select IPSEC and put it at 1-9. Do the same with IPSECDBG. Select
IPSECDECODE and put it at 1-13. Now that you have those 6 classes added we
will see in more detail what is going on.

Thanks,

Everybody,

I would have to agree with Chuck. I work on TAC for there VPN support and
deal with these issues everyday. If the tunnel establishes and the traffic
does not pass then look at the MTU. MTU can cause a lot of problems

Building a PIX [7:48210]

2002-07-05 Thread Robert Raver

Hey ,
I know there was a post here in the past about building a PIX with a intel
motherboard and a few other things. I lost my archives when I switched jobs
and now cant find it. If any one could send me an archive of the parts i
need and/or if any one just knows that would be great.

Thanks,
Robert Raver

Configuration Maker [7:47889]

2002-07-01 Thread Robert Raver

Hey Group ,
Im currently developing a program that configure's cisco devices. Im
currently on the router section and will be for a very long time. This
program is going to go into great more depth then Cisco Config Maker.
Before I dive into writing all the commands possible and options in the IOS
im developing the menu's. Im trying to pull as many resources as I can get.
There for im sure there is plenty of people that could help me out on this
in this list. So this is a real sketchy look at a menu I have. Now im open
to any and all idea's/comments on it. I figure that the hierarchy approach
would be best. If you guys could help me out on categories , different
designs, or anything that would be greatly appreciated. Im just trying to
make it best fit Admins. Needs.

+Access-Lists
+Bridging
+Interfaces
  -Ethernet
  Ip Address
  Hardware Options
  Fast Ethernet
  Serial0
+ISDN
+Multicast
+Options
+Routing Protocol's

I don't usually reply or ask on these groupstudy, but I think these is
not acceptable under any circumstances. If people can just have manners
and morals when involving like the discussion boards.I just can't what
people will say if I post in my Zulu language knowing for a fact that
these won't make sense to most if not all the people who are going to
receive these.Waste of bandwidth..
Can you please go and start your own Chinese/Korean or whatever group
where they'll understand these rubbish you have written here please.

I'm not expecting any replies from the author of these s@$t!
People must keep focus sometimes.Forget your democratic country and
behave like a responsible human being.

RE: DRAM and FLASH question [7:35600]

There is auctions on E-Bay right now for brand new DRAM for 2500 Series
Routers with the Buy It Now set at 16.00 Bucks.

Dude,

Those prices suck.

I looked at the prices for my 2500 series.

The 16 meg DRAM was the same, but they want $76 for 8
meg of flash, I picked mine up for $33..

I suggest www.pricewatch.com and compare prices first.

Good Luck,

Leslie McIntosh
