RE: CID help/Sybex Book Review

2000-12-15 Thread f_a_name

I echo John's comments. While I didn't have the
ciscopress book, I did have the official course
materials from the CID class I took in 98. However, I
took the exam in September 00 so I bought the Sybex book
for review. While it did discuss X.25, SNA, & the
StrataCom Line, the exam asked questions that were
simply not in the text. Boson was a little more in
depth and the course material provided a little more
information for me. But again, there were a few
questions that were simply not covered in the three
items I used to prepare myself for the exam. Still
passed with a slightly lower score than I was achieving
on the other Cisco exams.

RE: Free Book From Cisco

2000-12-21 Thread f_a_name

Wow! I feel 50% loved by Cisco as I got the alarm clock
but not the zip cord. But, don't feel too jealous of
me, the clock wouldn't keep the time and all it wouldn't
stop playing some stupid song. The city dump has it
now... ;-)

BCRAN COLT Question

2000-12-23 Thread f_a_name

I'm preparing for the BCRAN exam that I plan on taking
at the end of the month. I've run across a question in
Cisco's COLT that has an answer--according to COLT--
that I don't agree with. Before the replies fly about
the quality of the COLT, I did see the thread a while
back about the quality of the questions. I've found
some of their questions to be useful as long as I verify
the answer (& the question) in the official Cisco press
book or at CCO. Here's the question:

Question 16 of 44.
Which of the following is considered the primary part of
the dialer profile?

A. dialer pool

B. dialer interface

C. physical interface

D. mapclass

COLT's answer was A. In reading the Cisco press book,
there is nothing that would lead me to a direct answer.
However, I propose that it is B simply because it's what
defines all of the configuration characteristics
specific to a destination (page 240 of my book). Any
thoughts on this?

COLT Questions & Answers to Trade

2001-01-19 Thread f_a_name

I've been going through the COLT exams for BCRAN, BCMSN,
& CIT. Since they are nice enough to let you go through
each quiz multiple times, I've got ~100 questions for
each exam. I'm looking for BSCN COLT questions and
answers to complete my study guides for my final CCNP
exam. Anyone care to trade email me direct...

RE: Passed CIT, failed Founation exam.

2000-10-29 Thread f_a_name

Dave-

I'm curious if you've retaken the exam yet? I need to
retake as well and am curious how much of the exam was
repeated from the first. Did you see the same
questions? Did they try to re-order answers or re-word
the questions?

Thanks-
d

Subject: Passed CIT, failed Founation exam.

Saturday I took both the Foundation exam and CIT exams.

The CIT was moderately difficult with lots of questions
on CCO, Catalyst
5000, and AppleTalk.
Scored 759 out of 692 required.

Failed the Foundation exam, (combination of Remote
Access, Routing, &
Switching exams). Each section is scored seperately but
no where could I
find the minimum score required to pass each section of
the Foundation exam.

My score where as follows:
Routing720Pass
Switching702Fail
Remote Access 728Pass

Does anyone know where to get info on the cut off
scores? I thought the cut
off was 700, I guess not.

I plan on re-studying Wednesday and Thursday nights then
retake the
Fondation on Friday. The ironic thing is I took the
Foundation Thursday,
Passed Switching & Remote Access, but failed Routing. I
boned up on Routing
and Switching then my Switching score dropped.

I am bound and determined to pass this exam Friday!
