Re: Wireless LAN Support Exam [7:65625]
I passed both cisco wireless exams in the last few month. I've got some practical experiance with the equipment, so I read everything I could find on the CCO and downloaded the bosons, which turned out to be great. Make sure to take design first, and support second. Re: CCIE Written Exam Prep [7:64565]
Good advice at: http://home.attbi.com/~blaga/Written.htm From: Ron To: Sent: Wednesday, March 05, 2003 7:58 PM Subject: CCIE Written Exam Prep [7:64565] I have passed my CCNP mostly through self-study. Can anyone who has passed the CCIE written exam suggest reading materials that would help me to prepare for the exam besides the standard Cisco Cert Prep books? I would also like some advice on CCIE practice tests. Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! Is there something special about versions of firmware later then 10.10T for Cisco Wireless Access Points? They emphasis it, but I can't seem to figure out why... Any thoughts? - Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! Re: CCIE question... [7:59042]
A bunch of people would object to this, but I would reading Bruno's book. It's kind of light on some topics, but some of the more esoteric stuff is doesnt really appear anywhere else. It will at least give you a superficial overview of all the topics, and you can fill in the details using the books listed below. In addition, I would read EVERY SINGLE link on the blueprint thoroughly, and download boson #1 and #3 and follow the explanation links there for any questions you dont understand. You need the following too in addition to the above one.. 1. Doyle 1 and 2 2. Clark Lan switching 3. Caslow's book 4. CCO links on MPLS or book on MPLS and VPN architecture. 5. www.cisco.com :) Hope this helps.. No fragmentation when you just gotta fragment [7:57322]
If you've set the flags in the IP header to not allow fragmentation, and then you pass through in interface with a smaller MTU, what happens? RE: No fragmentation when you just gotta fragment [7:57322]
That's perfect. Thank you very much. Priscilla Oppenheimer wrote:JJ Angleton wrote: If you've set the flags in the IP header to not allow fragmentation, and then you pass through in interface with a smaller MTU, what happens? When a router attempts to forward an IP packet onto an interface where the MTU is smaller than the packet and the Don't Fragment bit is set, the router sends back an ICMP Message: Type = 3 = Destination Unreachable Code = 4 = Fragmentation was needed and the Don't Fragment bit was set. The router also drops the packet. By the way, in a related question - I've looked all through the Cisco website and can't find what the standard MTU is for Frame Relay. I found this in RFC 3090: To avoid packet discards on the Frame Relay interface, the RECOMMENDED default Frame Relay MTU is 1564 based on a PPP default MTU of 1500 bytes. That's the default. You could set it higher, probably, but why bother if the end stations aren't sending anything bigger? ___ Priscilla Oppenheimer www.troubleshootingnetworks.com www.priscilla.com - Do you Yahoo!? IP QoS with FR/ATM? [7:55175]
I am trying to understand how ip qos works with FR and ATM. I read that both FR and ATM do per vc queueing, is this true? If I configure CBWFQ udner one fr or atm pvc, does the router have two sets of queues? one set for different classes of ip packets, after the ip packet got dequeued from the ip layer, they will be queued again under that pvc? is it same for fr and atm? since the atm/fr vcs have cbr, vbr or cir, so they must have queues per pvc for cells or frames, ip qos such as CBWFQ has queues for different classes of ip packets, how do they work together? I can not find anything from cco, all of the qos docs either explain ip qos or atm/fr qos. thanks for any help. JJ __ Do you Yahoo!?
