Re: VoIP Textbooks [7:48168]

2002-07-05 Thread michael smith

I found "Voice over IP Fundamentals" to be very informative. Written by
Jonathan
Davidson, CCIE #2560, with James Peters, by Cisco Press, ISBN #
1-57870-168-6.

Xmodem fails [7:33289]

2002-01-26 Thread Michael Smith

After booting, at the console we got the rommon#> 1 prompt, and error
messages that the image decompression had failed, invalid format, blah
blah blah. Everything had been working fine for a couple of months, then
this, just as this beast is to go into production. We tried to install
new IOS on this new, isolated, stand-alone router, via Xmodem, because
there was no other apparent way to do it. It failed, and Cisco said the
only other way was to replace the flash with a factory installed IOS,
which we will do.

Anyone out there had similar problems (Xmodem failure)? We also do not
have an identical or similar router with PCMCIA cards.

OT Request; LAN/WAN monitoring software [7:31227]

2002-01-07 Thread Michael Smith

A bit off topic, but would appreciate any suggestions -

Looking for a software solution, not UNIX based, that has capabilities
to centrally monitor hardware and network traffic on a small LAN/WAN
network, that contains HP switches, Cisco routers and Compaq servers.
HPOV is not an option, end user is not UNIX guru, and network is Win2k
based.

Any suggestions would be most appreciated.

Regards,

Michael Smith
