I dont like the new format either. Sent them feedback which included a
request for the ability to personalize my own version of CCO start page like
you can with Yahoo ala My Yahoo. They say that's in the works. maybe
something to look forward to

I do not know any of my colleagues who like the new format.
I always choose the previous format by clicking Access Former Website
on the right column of the new home page.
Or go to http:// www . cisco. com/cco.shtml for the old good
 familiar format.

  Chuck,

I hate to say Me, too! but that's the case. I still hate the new
site with a passion. They swear that it's supposed to be easier to
 use
but it certainly is not, at least not yet. I'm sure we'll all get
 used
to it and they'll eventually fix all the links, but as it stands right
now I tried to avoid their site whenever possible.

Re: ACS Authentication/Auth/Accounting [7:59393]

2002-12-17 Thread not enough time to study
try adding ip tacacs-source

to specify an interface that you know you can reach FROM your TACACS server

maybe you dont have a route back to the router from server to the source
that the router is using for tacacs requests

Amer wrote in message

Okay I've got my login authentication, authorization and accounting
working
on most of my switches and router through a ACS (TACACS+). But I have
this
one router that gives me an % Error in authentication message as soon as
I
put in my username. It doesn't even allow me to put in a password. The
only way I can get into it is through the local account that I have
created
on it. I've checked a similar router (same IOS, exact same
configuration),
and it works okay so what can I look for to troubleshoot this
problem??
 Thanks in advance.

Here is the config on the router:

 aaa new-model
aaa authentication login default local tacacs+
aaa authentication enable default enable tacacs+
aaa authorization exec default tacacs+ local
 aaa authorization network default none
 aaa accounting update newinfo
aaa accounting exec default start-stop tacacs+
 aaa accounting commands 15 default start-stop tacacs+
aaa accounting network default start-stop tacacs+

P.S. Does anyone know of a way to filter out the commands that can be
accounted for at the ACS? At the moment, the accounting is working a
great
but it accounts for every command that's put it. I have an access list on
one of my router that is about 150 lines long and gets modified constantly
and every command is accounted for in the ACS Accounting. I'm trying to
see
if there's a way to filter out that particular access-list and not account
 for it everytime. Thanks again.

 Amer

Hello, Does anyone have a study strategy for the 3550 - in terms of
preparing for the CCIE Lab??I see lots of topics under:

http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/lan/c3550/12111ea1/3550scg/i
ndex.htm Is
there any that one should focus on or is one required to read and master
each and every topic listed? What do you think might be more covered in
the Lab? (Don't want to hear the word everything!!) Just printed out a
couple of topics and that's about a couple of hundred pages!! Any advise
is gratefully appreciated. Thank you. Sincerely, CN

 All,
I've been waiting to write this for a long time now.
I finally made it, got back from Brussels last night, dialled up this
morning and there it was #10808. WOW

My sincere thanks go to all who have helped me along the way.
I must however mention the likes of Marc Russell, Chuck (The long
Winding
Road) and John Neiberger who have (along with an awful lot of studying)
made
 this possible.

 Best Regards

 Richard

Re: Available lab seats [7:58725]

2002-12-06 Thread not enough time to study
it is like this most months. the policy says you can drop your date up to
30 days prior to your test without penalty. many people may get closer to
their scheduled date and decide they need more time to prepare and drop the
date.

you can usually find something either very soon or four to five months out.

I went to schedule on CCO and i dont see a seat available between 1-29 and
5-29 in RTP and 1-15 and 5-28 in SJ. Will more open up? this seems strange
that there are many seats available in the next 3 or 4 weeks but then none
 for 4 months.

Hello,Since the 3550's are going to kill us in the new Lab, has anyone
come out with a config. guide book or a cd-simulator, similiarly to the
Cat5 from Cisco? Also, on CCO, I see this one link for the 3550:

_guide_book09186a008007f368.html Is
this sufficient for the Lab? Please advise.Thank you.Sincerely,CN
