2003-04-02 Thread srinivas kunthuri
Hi all

I had implemented compression on my routers. avg raio of transmission and
receive is less than one in receiving.

Can I enable compression in one direction. i.e I want to enable compression
in
tranmit direction only.

Software Compression [7:66312]

2003-03-27 Thread srinivas kunthuri
Hi all

I had implemented compression on one link. the output is as follows

one side

 Software compression enabled
 uncompressed bytes xmt/rcv 865541/2479857
 1 min avg ratio xmt/rcv 1.376/2.042
 5 min avg ratio xmt/rcv 1.698/2.231
 10 min avg ratio xmt/rcv 1.796/2.280
no bufs xmt 0 no bufs rcv 0
 resyncs 0
   Additional Stacker Stats:
   Transmit bytes: Uncompressed = 101236 Compressed = 405733
   Received bytes: Compressed =1774037 Uncompressed = 2916489

Second side

 Software compression enabled
uncompressed bytes xmt/rcv 2877551/2627243
1 min avg ratio xmt/rcv 0.585/1.933
5 min avg ratio xmt/rcv 0.399/1.424
10 min avg ratio xmt/rcv 0.366/1.408
no bufs xmt 0 no bufs rcv 0
resyncs 0
  Additional Stacker Stats:
  Transmit bytes: Uncompressed = 5791044 Compressed = 1433939
  Received bytes: Compressed =1430290 Uncompressed = 11458322

how to know in how much ratio the compression takes place.
I think in first side the compression is negative. am i correct.

Can anyone explain in detail. Urgent Response please.

Regards,
K.Srinivas

to ping the serial interface usually it has to go to the remote end and
then
back...make sure the path from end to end is working...

Compression on 2610 routers [7:64702]

2003-03-07 Thread srinivas kunthuri
Hi all

I am planning to implement Compression on all my Routers. We are using cisco
2610 routers with IOS 12.1 at all my locations.
guide me how i can go about it. I had read on Internet that there is a AIM
module for compression. is there any configuration to be done on routers for
enabling compression.I had read on internet that we can implement hardware as
well as software compression.
what is the difference between two. do you need the AIM modules for
implementing software compression. Can anyone explain me in detail. Urgent
Response please.

Thanks/Regards,
K.Srinivas

Re: OT finding station trying to become MasterBrowser [7:58701]

2002-12-08 Thread srinivas kunthuri
Hi

There is a software called "3com network supervisor" which is freely
downloadable from 3com website.
This software automatically generates a map of all connecting devices upto
workstations. If you need more details, find out on 3com website. If you are
having any doubts, please feel free to contact me.

Thanks/Regards,
