Hi all I had implemented compression on my routers. avg raio of transmission and receive is less than one in receiving. Can I enable compression in one direction. i.e I want to enable compression in tranmit direction only. Hi all I had implemented compression on one link. the output is as follows one side Software compression enabled uncompressed bytes xmt/rcv 865541/2479857 1 min avg ratio xmt/rcv 1.376/2.042 5 min avg ratio xmt/rcv 1.698/2.231 10 min avg ratio xmt/rcv 1.796/2.280 no bufs xmt 0 no bufs rcv 0 resyncs 0 Additional Stacker Stats: Transmit bytes: Uncompressed = 101236 Compressed = 405733 Received bytes: Compressed =1774037 Uncompressed = 2916489 Second side Software compression enabled uncompressed bytes xmt/rcv 2877551/2627243 1 min avg ratio xmt/rcv 0.585/1.933 5 min avg ratio xmt/rcv 0.399/1.424 10 min avg ratio xmt/rcv 0.366/1.408 no bufs xmt 0 no bufs rcv 0 resyncs 0 Additional Stacker Stats: Transmit bytes: Uncompressed = 5791044 Compressed = 1433939 Received bytes: Compressed =1430290 Uncompressed = 11458322 how to know in how much ratio the compression takes place. I think in first side the compression is negative. am i correct. Can anyone explain in detail. Urgent Response please. Hi Larry, I did not understand what you are saying. I had pinged my local serial interface. it is giving request timed out. i had pinged the remote end serial ip. it is giving reply. Can you tell me why it happend. It has given request timed out. but, the serial interface is up and line protocol is also up. I had pinged the other end serial ip. it is giving reply. what will be the reason. can any one explain me . Compression on 2610 routers [7:64702]
Hi all I am planning to implement Compression on all my Routers. We are using cisco 2610 routers with IOS 12.1 at all my locations. guide me how i can go about it. I had read on Internet that there is a AIM module for compression. is there any configuration to be done on routers for enabling compression.I had read on internet that we can implement hardware as well as software compression. what is the difference between two. do you need the AIM modules for implementing software compression. Can anyone explain me in detail. Urgent Response please.
