Confused about CAR and GTS [7:10578]
Hello, everybody Now i am confusing about the burst in CAR and GTS. In CAR, it say that rate-limit output bps burst-normal burst-max ... In GTS traffic-shape group access-list bit-rate [burst-size [excess-burst-size]] I think that bps in CAR is the same thing as the bit-rate in GTS, and burst-size is the same as the burst-size in GTS, but i do not know it the burst-max in CAR is the same as excess-burst-size in GTS. And i thing the excess-burst-size is the bytes that excess the burst-size in the interval Tc=burst-size/bit-rat. So in the following problem: Configure R3 so that users on the Token Ring segment get at least 16K of bandwidth, but not more than 40K, for their telnet traffic. The answer is set the bps=16kbps, the burst-size=16k, and the excess-burst-size=40k-16k=24k, so the GTS is traffic-shape group 1 16000 16000 24000 Am i right? And what about CAR? What is the different between CAR and GTS? Help about ISDN dial-in only [7:4355]
No i have primary ISDN on center. I want to use it just for dial-in. And the dial-in user use his ip address, that not using ip pool; and don't authentication. Even it can dial up, but cannot ping each other. I open the debug of dialer Can you give me a sample? Must it have 'dialer-gourp' command? Must it have 'dialer-group' used with 'dialer string' or 'dialer map'? Thanks. Question about NM-2CE1B [7:2012]
Hello. I have a NM-2CE1B. But what i rent is unbalance E1. I saw in the CISCO Document CD that Jumpers on CE1/PRI modules can be used to connect or disconnect receive shield to ground. (See Table 8-1.) The default setting for balanced, 120-ohm CE1/PRI-B modules disconnects receive shield to ground. The default setting for unbalanced, 75-ohm CE1/PRI-U modules connects receive shield to ground. If you are experiencing ground loop problems with E1 cabling, you may want to try changing the jumper settings for the module. But after i set the jumper, it does not work yet. After i change to NM-2CE1U, it work fine. So i have a question: The different between NM-2CE1B and NM-2CE1U is not only the jumper setting, is it right? What i want to do is how to backup. It is always have serveral path to a Network 1, let's said path A,B,C. You want to policy route based on source address right? What address would you like the traffic to be sent to? How that address is learned is of no consequence. Policy routing question
I don't really know how the policy routing run. This is my quetion: i want to apply policy routing according to the source, but when the set next-hop is not accessible, it should be route as normal routing process( route according to dest. ip address). This is the config i do. int ser 1/0 ip policy route-map test access-list 1 permit 172.16.0.0 0.0.255.255 access-list 2 permit 172.16.112.0 0.255.255.255 route-map test permit 10 match ip address 1 set ip next-hop 172.1.1.1 route-map test permit 20 match ip address 2 set ip next-hop 172.1.1.3 I want to ask some question: 1. In the book "Internet Architectures" by Hassam, it said that ^1 ?[0-9]*$ identify all the AS_paths that start with 1 and of length 2-that is, AS1 and its direct customs. But i think that ? means 0 or 1 occurrences, when it is 0, the expression can be equal ^1[0-9]*$,means any single AS number start with 1. Am I right? If so, which is the right answer of all the AS_paths that start with 1 and of length 2. I have one 7507 as CIP, one 7505 and one IBM 2216 as DLSw+ peer, all of them are connect to two tokenring. There are some traffic between the 2216 and 7505. I don't want the traffic bridged by the CIPs as it connect to the two ring? What i can do in the cisco router? Help about IOS configuration
Now i want to buy a 1720 that can support sdlc, dlsw+, eigrp. When i try to find the proper IOS, i was confused by the mean. In cisco web page, it is no clear that can it support dlsw+, it just say support dlsw+ enhancement. So i choose the IOS IP/IPX/AT/IBM, is it right? How about IP PLUS? ( You may check ITU G.703 ) If your hardware is capable of carrying n x 64 K but not capable of channelizing them and not using multiple sub-interfaces over the same interface, then this fraction of n x 64K out of E1 is called Fractional-E1 Considering 7200 series routers, Cisco PA-4E1G/120 port adapter is a full rate E1 card. If you configure the controller as follows: controller E1 3/7 channel-group 0 unframed then you can use Full rate 2Mbps. However if you configure : controller E1 3/7 channel-group 1 timeslots 1-5 then you have a Fractional E1 interface with a bandwidth of 320Kbps (5x64) (Unfortunately, this PA does not support multiple channel groups and it is not channelized. PA-MC-2E1/120, on the other hand, supports Channelized-E1 ( and also full-rate E1 with the above commands) controller E1 3/1 channel-group 1 timeslots 1-15 channel-group 17 timeslots 17 channel-group 18 timeslots 18 and we have 3 subinterfaces of 960Kbps, 64Kbps, 64Kbps respectively. EIGRP and Unnumber IP Problem
I have a 3640 as dial access server as backup,using unnumber ip. Usually the branch 3620 connect to the 7500 through DDN, when the DDN down, 3620 dial to 3640.The routing protocol is eigrp.When use DDN, 7500 can learn the 3620 route.But when use dial,the problem occur. 3640 cannot learn the ip route of 3620. When i show ip eigrp interface, both the dial interfaces are included,but cannot establish neighbor. when i show ip eigrp traffic in 3620, there are no hello packet sent/received. What is the problem?
