BSCN Beta Results...

2000-05-25 Thread McMasters, Eric

To All,
I've been trying to post this for the past three days, so if it is
duplicate for some I apologize in advance. The results were posted last
Friday and I already received my score sheet from Sylvan, so to say the
least I was surprised that I passed. I just wanted to pose a question to
the people on this list with this question. Is it possible that the Beta
tests are actually easier than the exam once it goes live? I have been
reading that everyone has passed these Beta exams, but I have not heard of
one person that has failed. Is this just a fluke? I just can not believe
that I passed the Remote Access, Switching, and Routing Beta exams and
didn't even study or crack a book. I just planned on taking them to see
what the test were going to be like. I have my CIT scheduled for next week
(I would of taken it also, but I couldn't get a time), so hopefully by the
end of the month I'll be a CCNP. I've read some posts on the CID that
aren't that encouraging, so I think I'll actually buy a book and study that.
Let me know what you think about this and maybe shed some light on the whole
thing for me. Thanks for everyone's help!

Title: RE: BSCN Beta Results...

Eric,
It depends more on your experience rather than your study skills.
I feared the FRS exam for quite some time because I heard everyone talk about how difficult it was. In fact, I didn't take any of the exams because I didn't think I was ready (I learn by doing, not studying and forgetting).  I now have my CCNA, CCDA, CCNP, and CCDP. I got all of them within a short 4 week period and scored quite well on the exams. I didn't really study much, only a few doc's and some practice tests.

Now, I would say that it wasn't anywhere near as bad as I thought, but I also have Ten years of real-world experience.

The point here is this; Don't assume that the tests are hard just because other people say they are, they may not know as much as you do.

...On to the CCIE (I bet I'll have to study for that one, huh?)

the beta's are tests actually done to find out wether they are too easy or
too hard, its possible they were too easy. on the other hand, if you have
enough hands on, and know what the answer to those questions are, you dont
need to crack a book for it.
