Phil, 1700's wont run enterprise IOS. I really dont recommend them for a lab router. If you have the 4500's already, I would think the 1700's would be the best Voice router for the money. I would assume- with a reasonable discount, you could outfit 2 complete Voice 1700's for around 3,000. This leaves one open slot per 4500, could I implement voice on these routers and what card would I need? Any other outside equipment required? What memory requirements? What would enterprise give you that you need. Wouldn't that be a low cost solution for voice. You could learn the enterprise feature set on another router. - Original Message - From: Brad Ellis To: Sent: Tuesday, April 24, 2001 9:51 AM Subject: Re: CCIE lab equipment - VOIP help needed. Re: CCIE lab equipment - VOIP help needed. [7:1614]
Michael, Hi! I'd recommend getting a couple of 2513s in addition to the gear you have listed. I'd also recommend a couple of 2503s or 04s and an ISDN simulator (unless you were planning to put the BRI modules in the 4xxx routers). The hardware you are going to purchase should really be focused around the labs you are going to practice with (or teach). Let me know if you need anymore info. -Brad Ellis CCIE#5796 [EMAIL PROTECTED] Optimized Systems Inc used cisco hardware: www.optsys.net Michael Bambic wrote in message [EMAIL PROTECTED]">news:[EMAIL PROTECTED]...
