What version of IOS? They may have the new IOS called True IOS which in my understanding negates the need for separate management. -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]]On Behalf Of Hornbeck, Timothy Sent: Monday, March 12, 2001 3:21 PM To: '[EMAIL PROTECTED]' Subject: 6500 Catalyst Boots straight to MSFC router module ... RE: 6500 Catalyst Boots straight to MSFC router module ...
Hi You have a switch which has been shipped with the router IOS . what you need to do is to upgrade the supervisor software IOS . Please be careful , in case you use redundant sups and flash cards. Download the IOS from the site , remove one flash card from the switch and upgrade to switch IOS , then do the same for the other flash card too . It works , but its funny , cisco always ships it this way . Normally a session command needs to work , but basically the switch thinks that its a router in the presence of the MSFC card in switch and straightaway boots as a router , hence the router prompt instead of the normal switch prompt . Thanks -Original Message- From: Hornbeck, Timothy [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Monday, March 12, 2001 3:21 PM To: '[EMAIL PROTECTED]' Subject: 6500 Catalyst Boots straight to MSFC router module ...
