RE: Check what's new on CCIE R/S Webpage, right now! Shelve ATM studies?
Shelve ATM Lane, do not shelve ATM PVC, SVC, Classical IP or MPOA. They still exist on the exam. RE: Check what's new on CCIE R/S Webpage, right now! Shelve ATM studies?
This is very cool, IMHO. I have always been a little fuzzy on LANE, and my Decnet knowledge isn't where it should be. (I take the Lab on December 13 in San Jose). It's also good to know that if I happen to fail the first time, I can wait until after February and not worry about Appletalk (even though my appletalk knowledge is very good). For those who haven't seen the page, here is an excerpt: Effective immediately, the following topics have been removed from the lab exam content: LAT DECnet Apollo Banyan VINES ISO CLNS XNS ATM LANE X.25 Effective February 1, 2001, the following topic will be removed from the lab exam content: Appletalk NOTE: These changes only affect the Routing and Switching Lab exam. Some of the test topics may continue to appear on the Routing and Switching Written exam. Readers are advised to consult the Content Blueprint for the Routing and Switching Written exam for a detailed list of topics tested on the written exam. -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]]On Behalf Of Craig Jensen Sent: Tuesday, October 31, 2000 8:06 AM To: 'Brian' Cc: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: RE: Check what's new on CCIE R/S Webpage, right now! RE: Check what's new on CCIE R/S Webpage, right now!
Based on the amount of voice/multiservice on the written, it looks like AVVID will be plentiful on the lab. That, and the fact that Cisco wants us, as a reseller, to really push IP telephony. I just hope this doesn't make the CCIE "easier" to obtain. I'd rather have to take it twice than having it become easy enough so that most people pass it the first time. My MCSE (which I got in '96 when it was harder) is so easy to get these days, it's ridiculous. (Please no flames from those who just got their MCSEs) I'd just rather see it remain the high-paying, hard to obtain cert that it is. Hello, That is pretty nice for the new folks to Internetworking like myself. I just passed the CCIE written a few days ago and am about to schedule my lab date. I wonder what kind of configs we will see on the lab to replace the waning technologies. I guess in retrospect this is both good and bad.
