RE: Exam for CCDP Cert

2000-09-26 Thread Jim Brown

I thought that Cisco is using the CID #640-025 for the 2.0 track. I read
somewhere on the site that it counts towards the 2.0 certification. It is
only slated for a future update, but for now.

The 2.0 path lists the 025 exam.

Just the one i.e. CID #640-025, try the Sybex Book by Robert Padjen ISBN
0782126391 which got a few good comments on the group, but apparently the
Exam is a pig!
You only get to be a CCDP 1.0 though which probably means you recertify in
two not three years.

RE: Exam for CCDP Cert

2000-09-26 Thread McMasters, Eric

At the tracking site they have two separate certs, CCDP 1.0 and 2.0. All of
the certs are good for 3 years before you have to recertify. That is at
least what the tracking site shows. My suggestion would be to take get the
CCNP 2.0 and then take the CID 3.0 (640-025), so you can be a CCDP 1.0 and
then when the replacement comes out for the CID exam take the new beta and
then you should be good to go on the CCDP 2.0 path...if you pass the beta.
That's what I'm planning on doing at least. Hope that helps.

RE: Exam for CCDP Cert

2000-09-26 Thread Jim Brown

There isn't a new test for CID. To obtain the CCNP 2.0 status you take the
640-025. I don't believe Cisco has even released a date for an updated CID.

CCNP 2.0 is comprised of 640-5XX and 640-025 exams. No updated CID exam
needed. Upon completion of the exam track you are a CCNP 2.0. No early
recertification required, do not pass go, do not collect $200, you are now a
CCNP 2.0.

The only exams that require upgrades are the 640-4XX exams in the CCDP
track. Check the certification page FAQ.

RE: Exam for CCDP Cert

2000-09-26 Thread McMasters, Eric

Well I can tell you this. I am a CCNP 2.0 and I took the CID 3.0 (640-025)
and according to the Cisco tracking site I am a CCDP 1.0! I would put money
that when the 640-025 exam is retired that the exam that replaces it will be
for CCDP 2.0. Just like if you mix and match CCNP 1.0 and 2.0 exams, you
are still a CCNP 1.0 and not a 2.0

Re: Exam for CCDP Cert

2000-09-27 Thread Tim O'Brien

Well,

I just got back from taking and passing the CID test. Scored a 70% (65%
needed). They give you 2 hours for 100 questions and you can mark your
questions and go back. I read the Cisco Press book only, and felt pretty
iffy going into the test. There were several questions with a "select the
best" approach, man I hate those... Anyways, the test definitely needs a
revamp. I guess it is on to CCIE Written..
