RE: ISDN Dial-IN

2000-07-18 Thread McCallum, Robert

You only setup a username and password if you are using pap or chap
authentication. If you don't use any authentication then no password or
username is required.

Dear all,

When setup ISDN dial in, is it necessary that we need to assign User ID
and password. Suppose it only support sigle channel BRI.

Robert,
Thanks for your input. If we do not use Username & Password, can it restrict
each user only use one channel ?? (The background is I will install a AS5300
to support remote Analog DialIn and ISDN Dialin for public. Suppose everyone
can dial in. )

Re: ISDN Dial-IN

2000-07-18 Thread lee

Well, I don't think you can control the user by using your AS5300. If you
want to restrict particular user to use only 1 B-channel, I think you need
radius or tacas+ to do the simultaneous caller-id restriction. Or you ask
the dial-in user to set their router's load threshold to maximum (255), so
that it won't bring up the second B-channel.

Hope it help you out.

lee
