That seems to be what my experience has been but this one is puzzeling me. Buad on the AUX is 9600 modems 9600. Hi, Sounds like you have all the right hardware. You might want to check baudrate settings and make sure they all match. I has seen mismatched baudrate settings producing garbage characters.
