Re: CCNP Security Specialization [7:43422]

2002-05-06 Thread John Golovich

The CCNP-Security desgination is gone. It has been
replaced with the Cisco Security Specialist 1
Designation.

You need to pass 4 tests for this:
Managing Cisco Network Security
Virtual Private Networks
Pix Firewall
Intrusion Detections

Re: CCNP Security Specialization

2001-02-14 Thread Arthur Stewart

I didn't answer your question about books. My understanding is that there
currently are no books that directly correspond to the Security specialist
tests - except the CCNA and MCNS- which have Cisco Press and other books
out. The information I have is that the other three tests come directly
from the Cisco Course materials, but that the tests can be passed with
somewhat more difficulty using the product documentation available on the
Cisco website, which is also available on the Cisco documentation CD. Good
Luck and I'd like to hear how it goes.

RE: CCNP Security Specialization

2001-02-13 Thread Ole Drews Jensen

Hi Imran,

Yes, you must take all four exams. The way it's written can be a little
confusing, but the "1" means that it's the version 1 of the certification -
just like CCNP 2.0 is the version 2 of CCNP.

I do not have any book recommendations for you, since I have not started
this specialization yet, but I can recommend you to go to
http://www.yahoo.com and search for the exams by the number and title and
make sure to read the reviews before buying anything. If/when you find a
good book, you should see if you can find it cheaper at
http://www.bookpool.com or http://www.booksamillion.com, and of course let
me know :-)

Hth,

Ole

Re: CCNP Security Specialization

My read is that there is no more CCNP-Security, now it's Cisco Security
Specialist which consists of a CCNA and the 4 security tests.
