To the people going after free stuff
I know most people getting free stuff from cisco are doing it for thier personal use, but I am disgusted at those who turn around and sell them on Ebay. You would not believe how many items I have come across on Ebay; t-shirts, books, you name it, its on Ebay. The most recent item being the free book:Optical Networks, A Practical Perspective. To those who take advantage of Cisco by doing this, you make me sick!! Just had to vent! Thanks __ Do You Yahoo!? Thousands of Stores. Millions of Products. RE: To the people going after free stuff
Please don't write stuff like this to the list. This will only cause many angry American members to reply to your message, and before you know it, 50% of the e-mails to the list will be about this completely off-topic subject, while others try to use the list for study purposes. If McDonnald had been given away Donald Duck books in South Yemen, I am sure that some people would have turned around and sold those too. Don't put a mark on a whole country because some individuals does something you do not care for. That would be the same if I said that all people named Fernandez were idiots because I once met one. And most important - DO NOT WASTE OUR TIME ON THIS LIST! Thanks, Ole Ole Drews Jensen Systems Network Manager CCNA, MCSE, MCP+I RWR Enterprises, Inc. Title: RE: To the people going after free stuff How is this taking advantage of Cisco? You find a free book, courtesy of Cisco and groupstudy, get it for free. Maybe you read it and turn around and sell it to someone else who can use it; maybe you *don't* read it, but make it available to someone who wants it. Where exactly is the harm? Cisco's paid the publisher, and Cisco will make money off anyone who implements their technology in response to reading the book Cisco paid for. - Don -Original Message- From: chris fong [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Friday, November 10, 2000 9:27 AM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: To the people going after free stuff I know most people getting free stuff from cisco are doing it for thier personal use, but I am disgusted at those who turn around and sell them on Ebay. If anyone happens to have a spare copy of the L3 book or the ATM mcdysan/spohn book that was around a while back Id be interested. Im probably going to buy the ATM book anyway (I have an old edition of it so Id like the update), but I havent found the L3 book around - does anyone know if it was exerpts from a real book? Fingers well and truly crossed for the clock :) TTFN Lauren -- [EMAIL PROTECTED] Lauren Child, BSc. Re: To the people going after free stuff
I'm glad someone has some ethical sense in them. Even if I did'nt like or need whatever I received, I sure would'nt sell it at some ridiculous price. What disturbs me are the individuals who try to get free things for the sole purpose of selling them. Lauren, I fully understand your point of view. If I had what you were looking for, I would be happy to send it to you for free. Unfortunately, I don't, but thanks for your comment. --- Lauren Child <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > > chris fong wrote: > > I am disgusted at > > those who turn around and sell them on Ebay. If you're talking about the ATM Layer 3 book, I have an extra one from my company and they gave it to me. Email me at [EMAIL PROTECTED] if this is what you're talking about. Let me know where you're at, too...
