Re: Token Ring interfaces in a UP/UP state?
See if you can find an Andrew MAU unit. These take RJ 45 and are very good. I picked up 2 on e-bay myself. Very good piece of equipment. And cheap. OK, I went to Ebay and found a bunch of hubs for sale but I am not sure as to which type of hub would I need to connect 2 2502TR routers. I see an IBM 8226, 8228 and also other brands. I just need something simple and cost-effective. Thanks!! Re: Token Ring interfaces in a UP/UP state?
You mean MAU the 8228's are just fine... http://search.ebay.com/search/search.dll?MfcISAPICommand=GetResultht=1Sort Property=MetaEndSortquery=8228 You shouldn't have to pay more than $20 delivered for the MAU. I would buy two, it's easier to throw them out than change the soldiered internal battery. You will also need token ring to DB9 cables (a total of two). http://search.ebay.com/search/search.dll?MfcISAPICommand=GetResultSortPrope rty=MetaEndSortpb=ebaytag1=ebayreght=1query=token+ring+cableebaytag1cod e=0 Looks something like this... http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItemitem=1224161284 I wouldn't pay more than $10 each for a used cable Happy Shopping everything above will do Ring Speed 4 or 16 Mbps.
