compatibility of 2902/2901 ' s chassis with 5002's module

2000-08-01 Thread folks

Hi Group
I am about to buy a 2901 switch, but the seller said he had installed a
supervisor I on a chassis marked as 2902 series and it does boot up without
any pain? does any one know whether or how much the 2901/2902's chassis is
compatible with 5000 series modules ,say , install a supervior III to
2902/2901's chassis ,possible
Thanks

I believe that the 2901 is the same as a 5002 except that the 5002 has
modules held in with screws and the 2901 uses a different fastener (torx?).
Modules that work in the 5000 series should work in the 2901. I doubt that a
SupIII would work in a 2901 as the backplane is different.
