[cisco-voip] 7945 2nd line ring menu behaviour

2017-05-02 Thread Gary Bates_Command Solutions
Hi all
I have a small office client using a 7945 for reception , they want to take
multiple calls . When call 1 rings in , there is an option to transfer , works
ok, when a 2nd call rings in , the transfer menu stays on for 5 more seconds ,
but then offers the 'ring in' options with answer / I divert .

Receptionist wants the original menu to stay so they can transfer the first
call before answering the 2nd call.

Is there anywhere in CM where the ringing options can be modified to change
this to keep the first menu active perm or a longer period ?

Cheers
Gary

Re: [cisco-voip] Finesse cert error

2017-05-02 Thread Abhiram Kramadhati (akramadh)
Hi Scott,
Yes. But before that, are you able to share the screenshot of your certificate
and the error too? You can unicast them, if you wish. I just want to make sure
I am making the right recommendation.

So is it only the Tomcat Cert I need to reissue? if I reissue, does it affect
any other systems, (such as CM)?

Just need to schedule maintenance.

TIA

Scott

Hi guys,

The certificate should contain subjectAltName(SAN), and you should not have any
issues. If you were using CN, ensure it is now in the SAN. The same is
documented here:
https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!msg/chrome/5f1Kp_ntUwU/CfER8_JKDwAJ

The team looked at this today and for CA signed certificates with the above
config, there are no issues on the latest Chrome/FF. If you are still facing
issues, can you send me the screenshot and details?

Chrome stopped supporting Common Name matching in the latest release 58 which
dropped in the last week or so. This would cause the error you referenced
below. Looks like it now only supports names in the subjectAlternativeName
field of the cert.

Hope this assists

Nathan

OK, as of yesterday I started having reports of users in Chrome and Firefox
getting an error connecting to the Finesse webpage.

Looking at the cert It's sha2 but I get Not secure in FF and not private in
Chrome.

Chome complains of NET::ERR_CERT_COMMON_NAME_INVALID

cert is internal CA and the sigature algorithim is Sha512RSA hash is SHa512

The only thing that looks a little questionable is in the subject, I also have
the serial number and the hostname is CAPs not lower case

UCCx 11.5.1.1-61

Any thoughts?

Use the closed greeting. You can assign a schedule to the mailbox on the basics

So your mention of Jabber and multi-line... There may or may not be some
information in the CCP regarding that.

All,

We're in the middle of deciding how to replace phones as well. The various
programs and incentives that are available make the hardware competitively
priced with third party well enough to hopefully encourage the decision making
process away from that avenue. Jabber as a softphone still needs that multi
line (and I am beginning to doubt it will ever make it out into a release,
though I've seen a screenshot, it seems priorities are not with Jabber), and
the accessories like the DECT Handset cost as much as a phone anyways. We're
still working to get it up and out and make it an option, if we can encourage
users to give it a shot.

The 7940s and 7960s have been rock solid, but, I really want to be cautionary
on falling back on those things in a network environment where the voice and
data are converged on the same switching infrastructure. We have had enough
problems with the 7941/61 series, and, to some extent, the 7942/45s as well,
due to high background traffic, "too much" traffic, or certain types of traffic
- and if that happens to your organization you're left with no way to deal with
it, as these devices are no longer supported. For nothing else, if the phone is
actually important for a given customer, and needs to work, then I would really
recommend not waiting too much longer to begin your evaluations and determine
the next course of action. I don't think we're the only group that is in the
boat of not having replaced equipment, not by a long shot, nor are we the only
ones who have run into "quirks", just pray yours aren't user affecting.
