Under the direction of the Senior Applications Manager, PeopleSoft Systems 
Group and Development Lead for the Initiative, the PeopleSoft Developer is 
responsible for designing, documenting, building, unit testing and supporting 
code, configuration, and programs for PeopleSoft HCM for the project and in 
production. The PeopleSoft HCM Developer will successfully realize technical 
solutions, provide outstanding support for all phases of the project, and 
collaborate 
and support other project team members as required for a successful launch 
of the new system-wide implementation.

 

Duties of this position include the following:

 

* Design, implement, and support technical solutions supporting 
the new PeopleSoft HCM system based on input gathered from a variety of sources 
including Business Systems Analysts, UC locations, analysis results and 
industry 
best practices. Provide alternatives to customizations based on best practices.

* Initiates and recommends changes in development, maintenance 
and system standards. Understands industry practices and department policies 
and procedures relating to work assignments. Ensures that System Development 
Life Cycle and change management procedures are followed and documented to 
support each system development and change requests.

* Participate in peer reviews and inspections of requirements 
documents, 
functional and technical designs, and code. 

* Applies advanced applications programming concepts in designing, 
developing, modifying, debugging, and evaluating highly complex conversion 
programs

* Develop and maintain interfaces and batch control scripts for 
the PeopleSoft HCM system and supporting processes; develop scripts to support 
optimal operation of the systems.

* Create migration packages and develop scripts for data and 
configuration 
to be migrated across instances. 

* Provide technical PeopleSoft 9.2 HCM subject matter expertise 
and leadership to the team. Collaborates with other staff on complex technical 
issues and provides alternative solutions.

* Be a knowledgeable resource to mentor others less experienced 
in application development and production operations.

* Perform other duties and special projects as assigned. May lead

· PeopleSoft HCM version 9.1, PeopleTools 8.51

· Strong experience in upgrades, data conversion, interfaces and
reporting

· Knowledge of PeopleSoft architecture, PeopleTools 8.51,
PeopleCode, PeopleSoft Integration

· Tools experience (Application Engine, Component Interfaces,
Workflow), including scriptwriting and SQR development.

· Strong understanding of business processes and system
configuration for PeopleSoft HCM Candidate Gateway 9.1.

· Turn specifications into working code

· Develop or modify PeopleSoft HCM Candidate Gateway objects

· Create code that adheres to HCM Development standards and
practices

· Evaluating the impact of custom modifications on both the system
and the batch processes

· Perform unit testing in accordance with existing development
methodology

· Produce technical documentation for assigned programs

· Performance tune new and existing code

· Troubleshoot issues

· Participate in peer to peer code/design reviews

· Superior communication skills
