2008-09-17 Thread Suzieq

Jeanie:
I am sorry to hear of this.but, I do know that there are so many
more opportunities available today than when Gleevec became first
available. So, we can thank the Lord for this as well as our
wonderful research development people...

I don't remember if you said or not beforebut when did you begin
Gleevec..I was just curious how long you've been taking it before
getting to this point

Well.I am heading out for the wonderful, sunny state of Florida
tomorrow morning with my mom. Having to take her back down to check
on her house for sale as well as her doctor appointments next week
then we will bring another load of her stuff back with us. Right
now, I am doing really well.no complaints. I did learn one
thing, I put my good ole' standby athletic shoes back on my feet lo
and behold, the pain in my knees and legs has gone away! It was the
shoes I was wearing all the time..I know now a good pair of shoes
is worth the money spent. (smile) Not the cute little sandals or
slides flip flops. (smile).

Everyone take carewill check in once in a while the next couple of
weeks if I can pick up some wireless internet along the way. God
Bless take care, Jeanie. Our prayers are with you.

Keep Looking Up,
Suzieq

[CMLHope] what's the importance of BCR ABL Mutation Analysis?

2008-09-17 Thread Hoosha

Hi to all:

Hope all going well around everybody.

After 4 years of PCRU, I am positive for around 8 month.
I am going to do Mutation analysis but my onc believe that it's not so
important. I am in 800 mg and he said to me that after 3 month I
should do another QPCR and if it’s still rising I should switch to
Sprycel. He believes, in spite of BCR ABL Mutation Analysis result,
sometimes Sprycel work for T315I or the other Mutations. And it’s
better that in every status, I try Sprycel.

But I want to know more about the importance of this test.

God Bless Everybody

2008-09-17 Thread Susan Armour
I was not shocked by the article regarding liver failure with Gleevec.  Prior
to them letting me start the Gleevec in the clinical trial, I had to sign an
affadavit saying that I was warned about Gleevec with Tylenol.  They had deaths
due to people taking the two together before they realized the deadly
combination.
I have not taken a Tylenol since I started the Gleevec.  I hope everyone knows
this.

Hi Lynn,
So good to hear from you.
I sure am glad you thought of me and to pray for me.
Yes, I am trusting in God, and I know He has a plan for each of us.
What meds are you taking now?
I am praying for all, and let's all keep on being CML WARRIORS.
I have not been feeling well at all ever since my BMA and BMB.
But each day will bring something new, so I look forward to the challenge.
Nay in all things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
Blessings to all,

you start on a new drug. I myself thought I was finished when I thought I

Hi all,
I got some bad news today.
My Chronic CML has gone into accelerated phase.
I don't know what they are going to do as of yet.
Probably change my meds.
As you all know, my trust is in God.
I'll let you know when I find out what they are going to do.
Pray for me and all in need.
Blessings,
Jeanie3

2008-09-17 Thread ICANDOALLTTC

Hi Millie and thanks so much for your prayers and uplifting note.
Did you go into accelerated phase when he switched you?
On the Tasigna, did you have to have cardiograms daily?
Yes, that would be hard; I remember taken an antibiotic that had to be taken
on an empty stomach; hard to time it.
I am just waiting for my Dr to call and tell me what he wants to do.
I think they are still doing cytogenics on the test and they aren't ready
yet.
I'm 70, and am still hanging in there.
I noticed my left leg was swelling today, and that has never happened to me
before. I do know some of our cml'ers have swelling.
Also the front of leg is hurting.
Blessings to you and your e-mail has helped me so much.

2008-09-17 Thread C.M. Houtz
Hi Jeanie.Just on my way out to take my Tasigna, but it can wait a moment.
I then will start supper and that will give me time to wait the extra hour.
It's not difficult, once I started. No, I didn't need the EKG's every day, but
probably once a week, for a while. They just did another one yesterday, but
it's been a while since I had one. Everything is great with that. I've
noticed a few things since on the new med. I don't have the weight gain, or
the swelling (water), and don't miss it at all. On Gleevec I had diarrhea and
that seems to be gone too. I feel my life is so much better. Please let me
know what your doctor decides for you. As I said before, I don't know why he
switched me.just said the Gleevec wasn't working as well as he wanted it
too.

You're in my thoughts and prayers.
