Re: Stus-List Fire blankets, beer & wool

2016-03-21 Thread Russ & Melody via CnC-List

Hi Bill,

Sounds like the same set-up on your CO2 bottle that our local guys
call "the welding head". Be careful with using it unregulated on the
ship's horn as I suspect it's air supply was spec'd at the 100 to 150
PSI range. As you probably know a CO2 bottle can be 400 PSI in normal
summer temperatures.

Maybe try the ship's horn with a propane bottle. It's a closer
pressure, in the 150 PSI range, and that will really get the safety
bears spitting when you tell them what you're up to. :)

Not sure what you mean by 'Welding Head', but it has a high volume
regulator, the typical regulator that would handle welding gasses or
pushing beer did not have the volume to handle a ships horn. No dip
tube, but I suspect that If I turned it upside down it may come out
liquid, I have never experimented with that. It certainly comes out
with some force.
And boy, you are right about Wool rugs, I threw one on a bonfire
years ago, and neither blaze nor lacquer thinner would make that thing burn.

As for fire blankets, it's good that the Admiral is a natural fibre

blankie on it and follow with the nearest water jug, beer, wine,

Here are some shots of our access panel in the head. The bottom has a

and the door pops out. Sorry about the blurry picture of the bracket. Let

BTW, I didn't mean to sound like I was tooting my own horn in the last

Using a browser and the web version of gmail you have to click the drop
down in the top left of the reply window and click Edit Subject, at which
point you get a pop-up window that gives you the entire digest to edit as
you see fit.

I have to admit deleting the unwanted text is a PITA, but courteous to the
readers and to the archive storage requirements.

Then there are the various clients on handhelds and tablets that very
likely have nothing in common on the way to do it.

Re: Stus-List Stus-CNG tank refills

2016-03-21 Thread Della Barba, Joe via CnC-List
The tanks is a modified SCUBA tank. 1100 PSI is about just under half full.
They are usually about 2200-2400 when topped off.
You need to go on FleaBay and look for an adapter to hook your tank up to the
CNG station to fill it. They hold about $4 worth of gas. Your other choice is
to find a marina that does CNG tank exchange for about $100!
Something like THIS is what you need:

the gauge shows about 1100 (pounds?); the tank is about 2 1/2 ft long, maybe 8

My questions are: is there any way to know what this represent in usable fuel

there are a couple of CNG stations for vehicles around here but no one has
heard of refilling a tank; any ideas? What do you guys up East do? I would be

I did not realize how many people were getting the postings in Digest Format
until I checked the subscribers’ list. There are quite a few and many of them
are using Yahoo, Hotmail and Gmail email addresses.

Maybe part of the problems with Gmail are that when replying to a message, it
does not appear that you can trim the message or change the subject line.

After a bit of searching, I found the solution:
• Log in to Google Mail using your username and password.
• Click the mail conversation you want to reply to with an edited subject or
to trim the message.
• In the textbox with the message “Click here to Reply or Forward,” click
“Reply.”
• To the left of the name of the person you are replying to, click the
dropdown arrow. A pop-up menu appears.
• From the pop-up menu, click “Edit subject.” Gmail’s new compose/reply window
will appear for you to type your reply.
• To edit the subject, click the cursor into the subject field and make the
desired changes.

I don’t know if Yahoo and Hotmail are the same or not.

There could be other web-based email programs that prevent changing the subject
line or trimming messages. Maybe one of our members can help out there.

I can’t change much in the list mailing software, but I have made some changes:
a) digests will be smaller is size – so you might get more than 1 a day
depending on traffic on the list
b) the actual size of messages to be sent has been decreased. So if you do not
trim your messages, they may get rejected.

In a previous message, some one asked “Who cares?”. The answer is ME! I
own, maintain and pay for the list. So, when you are in my playground, you
play by my rules.
