Re: Stus-List removing sea shells from an Airmar speed sensor
I keep a medium bristle tooth brush in the trunk near the speed transducer. When it needs cleaned I just scrub it. You could also just preemptively remove the transducer at the end of every use. Re: Stus-List CnC-List Digest, Vol 153, Issue 151
I use my knife to scrape them off my Raymarine sensor. Not sure if it’s a similar material, but it doesn’t seem to harm it. I really try to replace the sensor with the plug, unless my boat is going I be in use regularly. I also spray on Petit Transducer paint, which I also use on my prop, after getting it down to pure metal. Works good on both. Re: Stus-List Filling diesel tank
I stopped worrying about topping off years go. Never a problem. And a 20 gal tank does not generate much moisture. >From my Android From: CnC-List on behalf of David Knecht via CnC-List Sent: Saturday, October 27, 2018 4:16:07 PM To: CnC CnC discussion list Cc: David Knecht Subject: Re: Stus-List Filling diesel tank Hi Marek- Thanks for reminding me that I read a report that tested the urban myth of water accumulation in an empty tank directly and found no water accumulation in the tank over the winter. My first day on the boat in spring is a long motor down the CT River, so I will plan to top up before that trip. Many marinas don’t allow the topping up, because if you do it now, the fuel will expand in the spring and it would leak through the vent. of course, your boat, your choice. Has anyone found a device that works or come up with a clever way to transfer fuel without spilling?
