The autohelm is a 1976 vintage that I don't think saw much use. There is a
spare linear drive that works along with the wind vane, but I am not sure
how that operates, but all the wiring is there for it. All the mounting
hardware is there. Some splicing is required for the harness. I not sure
how to email you direct from this site, but I can send pictures.

Bradley,
I have a Autohelm 5000 and ran into similar issues. I am updating all my
instruments with Raymarine and found out I can use my existing linear drive
unit just replace the control head using the EV200 then all my instruments
will communicate. I am using the linear drive because I have a complete
spare that came with the boat. Check with Raymarine, I am having the
Autohelm work done by a certified Raymarine installer. It is a little out
my depth.

Well I was over to see the boat today, brought the Autohelm 4000 control
box home with me. Appears like its an original so there will be no chance
of communication going on between it and the new stuff. :(( no trace of
anything other than Autohelm4000 and made in England so it's got to be as
 old as dirt!

Stus-List New to the list

To All,
Getting some great info from you all. Lots to think about as we get used to
our CC 36. Bought the boat last fall and only had a chance to sail it
during the test sail, but we fell in love with her.
Thanks again all.

Re: Stus-List Electronics deals?

Check into Raymarine they have a rebate program right now. I was going with
Garmin, but now think I will go with Raymarine

 Hi All,

Last year BG had a promo/rebate on their wind/speed/depth package where
they offered a free display with the purchase of the kit. That was a good
deal and I would have taken advantage of it then but other priorities won
 out.

Right now, it looks like BG is only offering a $100 rebate on the kit,
far less appealing than the promo last year. I know at least one of you
guys is involved in the marine electronics business and maybe you know of
other deals or promos that are available or that might be on their way for
spring? What I'm after is a wind instrument first and foremost, I have
speed and depth but I'll do the whole shebang if it's a good deal. The
Garmin GWS 10 wind sensor/display bundle is priced very competively but
I've never liked Garmin. I believe it is nmea 2k though so it should work
with say, a BG Zeus 8 or something, right?

 Cheers,
