This spring I have assembled a Web Site on Arpeggio, a 1984 CC 32 that covers
many aspects of the boat and upgrades and cruises that I have made since it’s
purchase in 2005.

I did this instead of commissioning Arpeggio and sailing this season due to a
shoulder operation and necessary recovery which is going very well. Web site
follows: (nothing fancy) http://arpeggio1984.info

Thanks to Tom Anderson for pictures and suggestion for Garhauer solid vang and
Harken traveler upgrades, which were major improvements.

Contacts can be made on or off the list. See contact section.

Hi Bob, you can make out the main sheet arrangement in Joel's pics here:
http://arpeggio1984.info/projects/2011-projects/2011-thumbnail-photos/

That's the same arrangement as I have on Suhana, the original arrangement.
Joel's boat has a lot of upgrades mine doesn't like the traveler and lines
led aft but the main sheet appears to work the same way. Would be great to
see how you arranged yours it's the one thing that really bugs me about my
boat. Trimming the main is a big chore and usually up to my girlfriend and
her skinny girl arms aren't really up to the task so I hate bothering her
to do it .. I end up using the autopilot and doing it myself. When we have
non-sailor company crowding the cockpit it means that non-ideal sail trim
sometimes gets a pass, which is a bummer.

Can one of you direct me to the pictures of the main sheet arrangement on
Arpeggio.I just want to check to see if it was the way mine was
 originally.

I have since changed my main sheet arrangement so that a winch is not
needed at all.in fact I can now trim the main from behind the wheel
 when sailing singlehanded.

Hi John, great site and I hope the shoulder heals up quickly and
completely. I own a 32 as well and the pics of your running rigging
improvements are really valuable. Do you find you need to use the winch to
trim the main sail? My 32 has all the original hardware and sheeting in the
main requires the winch, which isn't optimal.

2013-07-22 Thread John Russo
Steve,

Winch is a big help to wife and I use it in stronger wind close hauled. I
have new sails for next season and expect to trim less. Moving the new
traveler however is easy with the solid vang adjusted.
