Re: Stus-List Raymarine wind mast unit. ..
I had one for a Raytheon ST60 (that will indicate its age). I may have given it to Rich Knowles along with the faulty display unit last year. If Rich still has it it may be available. It will require new wind cups and direction wand. Re: Stus-List Raymarine wind mast unit. ..
David, I have one for a Raytheon ST60 which I'm replacing this year. The mast is down and I can get it today if you want it. It has about 60-70 feet of cable and I have a junction box you can have as well. I have no use for it and you can have it for the price of postage if you want. I have the display head also if you need that. Mike and David: I am now in Nanaimo, the other end of Canada, and have no idea where that gear went. I gave all my stuff away to various people before we left on Jan 8. Sorry! Re: Stus-List Raymarine wind mast unit. ..
Monty I have the ST60 as well and my unit always spins slower than the other units in the marina and when things get real light it won't turn at all. I tried lubing it with a dry lube product and that helped a little but not much. Did you notice that issue with your setup when you were using it? Also If Dave is not interested in your unit I would be it might spin better than mine. Dave I just read that you will be taking the wind unit from Monty, good luck I hope everything works out for you. If you have trouble and it does not work out for you keep me in mind as I am also looking for one. The one I have does not spin as freely as it should. Re: Stus-List Raymarine wind mast unit. ..
I don't have Raymarine, but my ComNav unit wasn't turning like it should and I lubricated it with spray silicone. It seemed to fix the problem. Re: Stus-List Raymarine wind mast unit. ..
The sticky but working MHU might be repairable. There are kits available: http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Raymarine-Autohelm-ST50-Wind-Vane-Bearings-O-Rings-/390530744370 That will do the ST50 units with black ends, some of the ST60 units. The bearings are available separately, NMB DDR-830ZZRA1P25LY121. The ID ( shaft ) is 3 mm, the outside diameter is 8 mm, no flange. You can see the bearing by removing the wind cups. Note, if you remove the wind vane you may have to recalibrate it later. No requirement with the cups. I did attempt cleaning the bearings from a MHU that was in not too bad shape. It would spin but not completely freely. Even after soaking and blasting through with electronics cleaner and such the bearings were still poor.
