2013-03-22 Thread Curtis
Thank you. She is a great boat. I will sail her in the Jean rebolt cup
race this weekend from Savannah georgia to Charleston South Carolina
if I can find a crew in time. I have spent many hours getting her back
in shape. She nice now. and I get remarks all the time on her. I love
this boat like non other. She and I will travel a lot this summer.
thanks again for the kind words.

You need to look around and you will find a good boat in usable
condition. I spent 6 months looking at abandoned mooring ball, boats
and pick up a fine C&C30 MK1 HIN # 675M81E. It was in bad shape"
cosmetically" I gave $2500.00 for the old girl. She had water on the
inside. She was full of dirt dobbers. The bright work was in bad
shape. It took a lot of hours and elbow grease to get her back in
shape. The Yanmar 12hp kicked right off, well with a squirt of WD-40.
And has ran every time i needed it. Great little engine. The boat came
with a ridged vang. It had 7 sail’s including
1) main
2) Racing Main
3) 115% jib with reefing
4) 135% geny
5) 155%
6) 170% drifter
7) Asymmetrical in a dousing sock.
There was an Optimist dingy with sail.
2 anchors and a scuba diving set up.
Insterment were
ST4000 autohelm. Needed repair $100.00 + shipping
st 50 TriData
st50 Wind
st50 multi
st50 speed/depth
5 finders
cushions’ need the plastic replaced and "pro-cleand" 350.00
I have maybe 4500.00 in repairs to the boat.
I have sailed it with pride for the last 12 months. A great vessel with
Plenty of room.
When I had her hauled and cleaned, She had no C&C smile.
I did the usual bottom work.
Cleaned, painted, thru-hulls, shaft seal replaced, Cutlass bearing.ect.
No soft spots on the deck. i did have some leaking on the deck to side joint.
To repair i just followed the manual's annual upkeep and tghtened the
deck bolts 1/4 to 1/2 turn on every nut and wal-law no more water.
My advice Look around and don’t be afraid to get dirty. That’s
where you will find the savings. You got to brake open coal to find
diamonds. Good luck
Cheers from Capt. Curt and the East Coast Lady.
