Hi all,

Hope you all had a nice celebration last night and the hang overs weren't too 
bad.  We rarely drive on New Year's Eve, but this year made a short trip to my 
brother-in-laws for an outdoor buffet, bon fire, making smores and enjoying 
fireworks.  

Here's wishing you all a better year in 2021.

Stus-List Happy New Year - Save the 2015 Date

First and foremost, best wishes to all for a happy and healthy (and 
breezy) New Year. 

Now that you’ve taken out your shiny new 2015 calendars (no Dr Crash 
calendar this year - bummer), please mark down September 11-13, 2015 for the 
2015 C&C Northeast Rendezvous, to be held at the Cedar Island Marina in 
Clinton, CT . 

Some of the highlights:

Floating docks with side-tie ups. 30A power, fresh water, fuel and gas.
Our own private dock with room for up to 20 C&Cs.
Extremely protected - no wind and no waves. 
Pool and hot tub.
Waterview seafood restaurant on site.

Happy New Year all!
Yesterday I removed 800-1000 pounds of ice from my boat, which still left 
frozen scuppers and a bunch of snow. So, not quite the Chesapeake experience. 
At haul out our marina owner tipped the big crane into Lake Champlain, which 
meant the power washing of dozens of boats didn't happen until they sat on the 
hard for a week or more. so much for my boot stripe. Oh, what I meant to say 
was, no usual nice sailing days here for a while, 20 below zero forecast for 
Friday. Did I say Happy new Year yet? Taking it all in stride though.

I wish for a Happy New Year to all my fellow C&C friends.

We got out today for the New Year's day tradition of toasting the 
points of the compass. Melody did a great job of mixing boat coffees 
(rum & hot chocolate) for the two of us. It was a little foggy in the 
morning but cleared enough in the afternoon that we could see the 
brilliant white snow-caps of the coast mountains on the other side of 
the strait. The day was calm, perfect for a puttsing about the 
harbour. Many other boats puttering around as well.


This evening I received a couple of reminders that racing is 
beginning anew, next Sunday,  for Nanaimo Yacht Club & Schooner Cove 
Yacht club.  It may be cold but there can be some glorious days out there.
