[cobirds] Rufous-backed Robin update

2022-02-09 Thread Brandon
It sounds like the last sighting for the Rufous-backed Robin at Denny Lake
in Cortez, Montezuma County is Monday 7 February 2022. Coen and Brenda
couldn't find it on 8 or 9 February 2022. If it has really departed the
area, it did stay quite awhile for many people to see this amazing first
state record for Colorado. First found on 18 January 2022 by Coen Dexter
and Brenda Wright and seen every day through 7 February 2022. Congrats
again to them for finding this first state record and helping many people
see it. Hopefully everyone who saw it has submitted their record on it for
the Colorado Birds Records Committee, so it will be added to the official
Colorado State List.

[cobirds] Location info for the Pacific/Winter Wren location in Lakewood

2022-02-09 Thread Carl Bendorf
Would someone be able to give me some guidance on where to park and where
to walk to look for the Pacific/Winter Wren that was reported recently? I
have the GPS coordinates of the bird's approximate location but I'm
wondering where do I park and where do I walk to be on the correct side of
Bear Creek.

Feel free to message me privately.

Thank you,

Carl Bendorf

”Preble’s meadow jumping mouse (Zapus hudsonius preblei) only exists along
the Front Range of Colorado and southeastern Wyoming. The North Fork of the
Cache La Poudre River watershed provides good riparian habitat for the
mouse. The species was listed as threatened under the Endangered Species
Act in 1998. Learn about efforts by private landowners along with local,
state and federal land managers to help manage and enhance habit for this
species. This presentation outlines some of the voluntary measures
landowners are incorporating, ranging from riparian restoration efforts to
the implementation of conservation easements.

Carmen Farmer is the Project Manager for Colorado Open Lands, a statewide
land trust that holds easements on over 600,00 acres. Based in Fort
Collins, Carmen overseas conservation easements for the Northern Front
Range and Lower South Platte Basin."
