Re: Problems basic-link in xsl-fo

2003-03-21 Thread Jessica Niewint
No, for me it is even impossible to build the PDF. So I will rebuild cocoon
this afternoon. May something is wrong.
It seems that the tag basic-link is non know or accepted by the PDF.
We got also problems to display a gif . And this on to different servers
with two different cocoon releases. May there is a connections. Since I am
not a "Cocoon-Specialist" , there could be also something wrong with the
sitemap. For me is only strange that everything work fine, only if I try to
use the basic-link tag I got the message that the PDF is damaged. I really
do not have a clue ...

There was some discussion a while ago that there are problems with
external http links. THe PDF should display fine though, only clicking
the link results in an obscure error message.
Can you generate the PDF with the FOP CLI?

You are missing the "http://"; from the start of the URL. Otherwise I believe
FOP will assume a "file:/" protocol?

Hi, I am not sure if this is the right mailing list for the question...
so if it is not, please give me a hint where to post my question.
I am using  Cocoon 2.0.4

I got a problem to insert a external link to my xsl file with .
It seems that no one else got a problem like this. So may be I forgot to
define something in the header of the xsl-file or in the sitemap. The
"strange" thing for me is, that without using the the
output into the pdf-format is no problem.
Inserting the TEST into my xsl-file
produces an error.. when I comment out this tag, everything works fine and
the pdf file is shown.
So any ideas ?

Thank you  in advance

Problems with

2002-12-11 Thread Jessica Niewint
Hi, for me it seems to be impossible to generate a PDF with graphics.

I use (cocoon 2.0.3 with java 1.4) ...
The data come from a database (via xsp).

The variable $sectioncontent contains a path to an image (Like:
http://www.myserver.com/xyz.jpg) .
In the tag I use this var to define the src
(src="$sectioncontent").

Image here

But no image will be displayed in the pdf file, even if I put a static path
in to the tag : nothing !
Is there something I have to know ? Sitemap, Cocoon ???
I have to generators with html everything will be shown correctly

sitemap -> save file ?

2002-11-29 Thread Jessica Niewint
I generate a PDF -File via XSP -> XSL:FO . Now I got the problem, that I
have no idea how to store the generated pdf-file. I do not want to do it on
the client side (with the acrobat-reader) I want to stay on the server
site. How can I move the content of the generate PDF in the browser to my
server ? Or better, do not even want the the file will be displayed in the
browser. Is there a way to save the content "before the browser" , maybe
with the help of the sitemap ? or a script ?

RE: embedding html in xml ?

2002-10-03 Thread Jessica Niewint

Thanks Luca,

but my problem is that the stored text in the database which belongs to the
 tag is something like this:

 blablablablabla
blablablablablablabla ...

so the contained html in the stored text could be also an image, table, etc

So I am afraid of that could be against "the rules" of xml ... since the
content of my tag is mixed

So what could be a solution ? Use the CDATA tag ???

In my database is saved a paragraph which contains not only pure text, but

How can I realize an output of an "click-able" url?

HI it's me again.
With this xml file I get the right chapters for the right sections and
the right sections for the right document.
Only that my output is something like this
document
section A section B
chapter 1 chapter 2
chapter 3

I wanted to generate a document structure like this:
document
section A
chapter 1
chapter 2
section B
chapter 3

I have no idea if my way how to use  the esql -query is wrong or if
I have change the xsl file.
But may some one just give me a hint ...
Thank you in advance ...
J.
I will post again my xml and my xsl file. Sorry for this long posting.

how to ???

2002-09-26 Thread Jessica Niewint

Hi, it's me again ... could some one give me a hint how to use
in the right way ?

I have to generate a document structure like this:
document
  section A
 chapter 1
 chapter 2
  section B
 chapter 3

  My problem is to combine the logic with my esql tags.

http://apache.org/xsp";
xmlns:esql="http://apache.org/cocoon/SQL/v2";>
http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance";
xsi:noNamespaceSchemaLocation="schema.xsd"
xmlns:esql="http://apache.org/cocoon/SQL/v2"; xmlns:xsp="http://apache.org/xsp";>

xmldb

select * from document

select * from section where DocID
1
  // Here I have to make an output first for the section A and all its
chapters and after that I have to realize an output of the section B and
all its chapters ...
   how can I realize it ?

  for (int x=0; x< =; x++){

select * from chapter
where Chapter= nr  AND
Section=A

  for (int y=0;
y<=; y++){

  }

}

Is it possible to use esql or better to write everything in Java? I am
really new to all this stuff ... sorry if I mix up everything ...
J.

Newbie question :Eqsl does not work !!!

2002-09-25 Thread Jessica Niewint

I have problems to get an output of my db-data.
The database-pool(connection to my db) works fine, I had tested it with the
esql.xsp file which came with the cocoon application ( I changed the
original pool with my db-pool and it read the data correctly from my
database (mysql)).

In the basic.xml file I tested also a expression which works fine.
I got also problems to use a logicsheet ... may be this could be a hint ?

Sorry for this long posting, but I am new to xml/cocoon and thought I could
be helpful to see the whole structure of this test-application.
Thank you in advance !!!

my directory structure:

directory structure:
/cocoon
   /test
basic.xsl
sitemap.xmap
/xsp
  basic.xml

my basic.xsl file:

http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform"; version="1.0">

my basic.xml file:

http://apache.org/xsp";
xmlns:esql="http://apache.org/cocoon/SQL/v2";>

 Select from Database
 Here is the result:

 xmldb

 select * from document where
DocID=1

my sitemap.xmap:

http://apache.org/cocoon/sitemap/1.0";>

Re: Installing mysql JDBC Driver

2002-08-29 Thread Jessica Niewint

If there are no config problems then post your web.xml and cocoon.xconf
extracts and I'll have a look. the jar should be fine in WEB-INF/lib.
I got exactly all this. The only point is that there a still the standard
driver in my installation.

my web.xml

   load-class

 org.hsqldb.jdbcDriver

 org.gjt.mm.mysql.Driver

my cocoon.xconf:

   jdbc:hsqldb:hsql://localhost:9002
   sa

   jdbc:mysql://localhost/test
   root

  Could there be another problem ?

OK I dropped the mysql-connector-java-3.0.0-beta-bin.jar file ( I did not
rename it) into my cocoon/WEB-INF/lib folder and add the classname
com.mysql.jdbc.Driver to the web.xml file. Cocoon starts up, but in the

No if a drop the mysql-connector-java-3.0.0-beta-bin.jar file here tomcat
will not start.

Is there something else that could be wrong ? May be a Java classpath ? The
configuration of tomcat ( even if all the examples/applications of tomcat
worked fine) ?
Cocoon (here also no problems with the standard installation and given
examples ).

May be some conflict with other drivers. P.ex. I got the jdbc interbase
driver in my classpath ...

But how did you installed the driver ? With an extra- classpath ? Or did
you drop the mysql-connector-java-3.0.0-beta-bin.jar file into the lib

Re: Cocoon & mysql

2002-08-09 Thread Jessica Niewint

Sorry but I think I haven't understand you,

You do not have to mention a JARs in /WEB-INF/lib/ in web.xml.
Restoring the old web.xml and restart tomcat.

what does it mean, I can add my mm.mysql driver to the web-inf/lib folder
without changing the web.xml file? If I do this I got a Internal Sever Error.
If I add an extra-classpath and list the driver in the load class
element I got no internal server error but I got the java-exception in the
log file. I really have no idea what I made wrong with my driver
installation ...

Cocoon & mysql

2002-08-09 Thread Jessica Niewint

Ok I want to connect to mysql and I heard that there will be problems with
jdk1.4. and the mm.mysql.driver ... so I actually have:

jdk 1.2.2
cocoon 2.0.3
tomcat 4.0.4 ...

everything works fine until I try to implement the mm.mysql.driver
(2.0.14). I downloaded the driver , unjared it. I tried to install the
driver by enter the extra-classpath for the driver in the
$COCOON_HOME/WEB-INF/web.xml file (my ABSOLUTE-PATH-TO-ARCHIVE is
"/jdbc/mm.mysql-2.0.14/mm.mysql-2.0.14-bin.jar") and by copy the
mm.mysql-2.0.14-bin.jar file into the $COCOON_HOME/WEB-INF/lib directory
and add in both cases to the load-class element in the web.xml file
"org.gjt.mm.msyql.Driver" ...
When I try to open the httpd://localhost:8181/cocoon page I got an internal
server error ... so what did I forget ? Where was I wrong ???

2002-08-09 Thread Jessica Niewint

I want to connect to a mysql database. Since I read that there are a lot of
problems using the mm.myslq.Driver with my combination of tomcat, cocoon ,
java I just wanted to know there are any other solutions. or the only one
is to change my version of Java ???

Thanks in advanced.
