@Trevor-zhang : sorry, I didn't suggest to close this out. I am also getting conversant w/ hive sync in general. So, was trying to clarify few things. if I am not wrong, metastore flow(non JDBC flow) is already supported. Just that config value for "hive.metastore.uris" is taken from Hadoop configuration and there is no direct way to pass in as as argument. If you intention is to add an argument to make it convenient, then this patch is the right approach.
