Attached snapshot as requested!

I did Alt+Shift+Y, minimized the window, saw the CPU issue beginning, and did
Alt+Shift+Y again.

Please attach NetBeans self profiling data.

Turn on the self profiling with Alt+Shift+Y

Reproduce the CPU burning

Press Alt+Shift+Y again

You will get a nice profiling session snapshot which you can export (top left
icon in the snapshot toolbar)

Attach that file to this issue.

Minimizing the NetBeans window will consistently reproduce the bug/behavior
after doing a Ctrl+Shift+6, Ctrl-W.

The behavior also returns when I click back and forth between Netbeans and
other windows, and sometimes while I'm using the Netbeans window.

At the time, it was just an observation. Meanwhile, while I still have the same
version 11 installation, I got an error in the notification area together with
other errors prompting me once again to install nbjavac 1.6. I followed the
prompt and got the same error again. Now I checked Menu|Tools|Plugins In tab
"Installed"
With Show Details checked, nbjavac library Version 1.6 is installed.

I don't think I can provide steps to reproduce this. I would have to wait until
it happens again, and then report the other errors that come with it.

> As part of the discovery of NETBEANS-1824, I gradually built up the IDE
> state, adding project after project (14) with some re-starts in between to
> get clean log files for inspection. I selected the projects to be simple, and
> I verified before with the maven graph viewer that they did not contain the
> problematic lombok dependency. In the latest iteration, at a new re-start,
> without me doing anything, a NullPointerException occurred (also logged as
> message but later disappeared from the message queue) and a message prompt to
> install nbjavac Library. I first saved the log to get the NPE and then I
> followed the prompt. "The following plugins will be installed:
> nbjavac Library [1.6]." This failed with the latest exception which makes
> sense because it would have been already installed by the initial
> installation and updates. So the 2nd question is what lets the IDE decide to
> make this wrong decision? And the 1st question is what is this
> NullPointerException that occurs at this iteration where the number of
> projects is less than in a different installation of the same version with
> the lombok bug present.

I have uploaded the file dl4j-examples.zip here:

[https://mega.nz/#!HIAVDSAQ!tL-QgRj7gEoGcuRAAI-uJMgSlOqi4gvbAKTMoU6I01c]

It is the original project that caused the problem. At the same time, I could
reproduce the problem with the same project cloned fresh from
[https://github.com/deeplearning4j/dl4j-examples.git] and then checking out
6bf5d64 from 2017-04-18.

I'm trying to work out how to install the JavaHL library. I've downloaded what
I think is the latest Subversion, but it's neither digitally signed nor do the
suppliers give file hashes, so I'm not very happy about installing it without
some indication that it's genuine.

Just because I'm paranoid doesn't mean they're not out to get me

Laszlo, I agree with everything you say, but if my attempts to upload to your
system ask for a "token" there's not much I can do about it, is there?

I've attached the logs here.

Anyway, I suspect this is a dupe (as well as an anagram) of 2738.

So reduce the warnings by simply adding a proper type to the variable

Thank you for reporting this issue!

Just being curious, wouldn't you like to provide a PR for this one? If not,
that's fine, I can create one, just people start to involve into open source
development by fixing issues like this one first.

And the 1st question is what is this
> NullPointerException that occurs at this iteration where the number of
> projects is less than in a different installation of the same version with
> the lombok bug present.

> java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: com.sun.tools.javac.code.TypeTags
> My IDE is frozen with  NetBeans using CPU on all 8 cores at 100%.
> The log is filled up with messages as below.
> On the screen, there is a dialog "Save (Not Responding)" where it asks to
> confirm saving 2 Java files. I clicked "Save All" but this kept popping up
> unresponsive after the IDE lost focus and then re-gained focus in a cycle
> many times.
> I don't know what the primary issue is - the HIG CPU usage for perhaps
> another reason or the errors in the log file. I cannot do anything at all
> because JVisualVM cannot get a handle on NetBeans and waits forever computing
> a description.
> Therefore, I would think that solving the ClassNotFoundException has the
> higher priority. It fills up the logs and prevents discovery of other issues.
> All 3 log files are full of that exception.

> incubator-netbeans-release-404-on-20190319)
> Java: 11.0.2; Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM 11.0.2+9-LTS
> Runtime: Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment 11.0.2+9-LTS
> System: Windows 7 version 6.1 running on amd64; Cp1252; en_NZ (nb)
> On installation, I let the IDE import settings from a 8.2 version.
> How I reproduce it:
> Menu|File|Open File
> And here it starts with multiple Windows dialogs:
> "Windows: Windows is searching for mintty.exe. To locate the file yourself,
> browse."
> After a while I get another Windows dialog:
> "The item mintty.exe that this shortcut refers to has been changed or moved,
> so this shortcut will no longer work properly.
> Nearest match, based on size, date and type C:\Program
> Giles\Git\usr\bin\mintty.exe
> Do you want to fix this shortcut to point to this target or do you just want
> to delete it?"
> I let it ix it.
> This sequence repeats 3 times until I eventually get the file selection
> dialog which lets me open a file.
> But it never gets fixed. Every time I use  Menu|File|Open File, the sequence
> repeats, meaning I need about 10 minutes to open a file. Unfortunately I
> cannot continue using NetBeans 11 because of this bug, and I am back to 8.2

[~Sir Intellegence] depends if you're using Ant or Maven?  You can take a look
at my Ant build script if it's any use, which includes JDK bundling with
InnoSetup and Mac app bundles.
[https://github.com/praxis-live/praxis-live/blob/master/build.xml]  Whichever,
you just need to make sure that the JDK ends up in an internal directory and

And to use Apache NetBeans, you don't have to use Java 9+. You can continue
using JDK 8, FYI.

We're hoping to have it back again tomorrow.

I do recommend you look into upgrading to Apache NetBeans releases.

[~GeertjanWielenga], that link doesn't help because all the artifacts on that
page are all in the NetBeans repo, which is now offline.

I suspect that this may affect many organizations, and probably very few of
them have the resources to drop everything and upgrade to Java 9+ and Apache
NetBeans.

At the moment everything has ground to a halt, and in order for my team to
start developing again, we need to mirror RELEASE82 at least. I can try to
create a mirror using the cached jars that I have locally, but that will only
include the modules we've used so far.

If there's any way you could restore temporary access to
[http://bits.netbeans.org/maven2|http://bits.netbeans.org/maven2/], or make the
jars available elsewhere so that we can just grab everything, it would be very
helpful. I realize that we could build RELEASE82 from source, but I expect that
won't be easy, and I'd rather just use the official build that's been working
for us.

Oracle could upload to Maven Central though. And Apache might be able to host

[jira] [Created] (NETBEANS-2854) ErrorHint to convert break statement to yield statement for switch expression in JDK-13

2019-07-16 Thread ARUNAVA SINHA (JIRA)
ARUNAVA SINHA created NETBEANS-2854:
---

 Summary: ErrorHint to convert break statement to yield statement
for switch expression in JDK-13
 Key: NETBEANS-2854
 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/NETBEANS-2854
 Project: NetBeans
  Issue Type: Bug
  Components: java - Hints
Affects Versions: 11.2
Reporter: ARUNAVA SINHA
Assignee: ARUNAVA SINHA

Suppose someboby has used below switch Expression in JDK -12

a = switch (a) {
default: break 5;

}

But once me migrate to JDK-13, this will not work as break statement needs to
be replaced with yield statement

Below error is displayed:

';' expected
attempt to break out of a switch expression

Expected transformation:

a = switch (a) {
default: yield 5;

}

> When I create a new project using "Samples/OpenJFX/HelloFXWithMaven" I can
> set the project name (ie: "myproject") in the Wizard.
> At the end of the creation the name of the project in the IDE is always
> "HelloFXWithMaven" but the folder name in the projects folder is correct
> ("myexample" for me)
> Attended result: the name of the project must be the one setted in the wizard

In JDK-13 break with-a -value will be replaced with yield statement.

{{ case "Foo": yield 1;}}

{{ case "Bar": yield 2; }}

{{default:  yield 0; }}

{{};}}
