I don't see what the picture has to do with OpenMoko. It's a neat shot to be
sure, but I don't get the correlation.

Re: Openmoko wallpaper

2008-01-08 Thread clare

Marcel it is very beautiful, but as you say high resolution - 6 megs big.
We dont all have fast connections. So for the wiki, maybe not such a good
idea; but as wallpaper or a poster, for download and display, lovely. Or
perhaps just the added part - the logo and the word openmoko, for the
wiki.

clare

Re: Openmoko wallpaper

Hi Michael,

yes you are right, but that are not only the "o". Every Letter has it
own "direction" because of the perspective, so it's correct in that way.

Just have a look on your mobile phone (or any other thing) on your desk,
put it right to you, you will see the left side of the thing. Now put it
more to the left (but don't turn it!) and you will see the right side of
it.

Same thing with the letters, that makes the 3D Effekt in a 2D
Picture/Monitor. You can find that at every letter.

btw. I think it looks really nice, the color is nice and "fits" (don't
know to say in english) well to the orange of openmoko, the openmoko
theme, my yellow/orange room and my ubuntu desktop :).

Re: Openmoko wallpaper

2008-01-08 Thread Marcel
I have uploaded the xcf file with the original layers in it and a second png
version with a more solid logo.

http://tanuva.de/files/mokocars_at_night_v2.png
http://tanuva.de/files/mokocars_at_night.xcf.gz

The "more-solidness" was acquired by simply putting 2 or three of the
logo/text layers above each other - so it can be customized fairly simple.

True, but he specifically specified he had a USB Wifi driver (which I

Quoting http://wiki.openmoko.org/wiki/WiFi_support_in_OpenMoko#OpenMoko_and_WiFi
:

"WiFi support for OpenMoko is in the works. Current Neo1973 GTA01 does
not include a wireless LAN chip, but the upcoming Neo1973 GTA02 is
going to have one: Atheros AR6K 802.11 b/g."

does wifi work in GTA01?

2008-01-08 Thread Phani Kumar Kancharala
Hi,

I am trying use wifi on GTA01. Since I have 2.6.22 kernel with USB host
patch, and a USB WiFi driver, I thought it is possible. But, I got stuck
with the errors occurred during cross compilation of relink USB WiFi
driver. I found that CONFIG_WIRELESS_EXT is not set in the kernel
configuration file, which is required to enable the member
"wireless_handlers" in net_device structure which is defined in netdevice.hfile.

So, I think having the correct configuration file would solve the problem.
If it true, where can I get the config file??
are there any other ways to get WiFi up on GTA01?

Regards,
Phani
