Its probably wise to wait a couple of weeks to see the developer doing the work complete. Then we can see what we are still missing. Re: Asterisk Release for the Openmoko Platform
Wow, Asterisk on a phone sounds great. Thanks for getting this started. fyi, anyone creating ipkgs for OpenMoko: If you are building FOSS apps (like Asterisk), please send us a mail at [EMAIL PROTECTED] and make sure you point us to your recipe or just attach it. So we can include it in OpenMoko, the daily builds, etc. Let me know what you guys think, this could bring tons of expansion. Yes, indeed :-) Thanks again, Wolfgang On Jan 27, 2008, at 8:02 AM, Brandon Kruse wrote: Hey guys, I just wanted to tell you I just got done rolling the termcap- compat, speex, and asterisk ipkg's. Re: Digital Compass & JavaFX
Bzzt, thanks for playing. There is a "Java 1.4 (SE) Technology Preview for ARM" that you can download; this has been available for about 6 months. Unfortunately it doesn't play nice with the particular shared library versions that are installed on OpenMoko, and at that point I gave up. Not to mention that you can download Java ME for Arm from the JavaME site :-) Can you elaborate what you mean with 'didn't play nice with the particular shared library versions'? The more detailed the more we can do about it. Also, can you reply with a URL for Java stuff you would like to see integrated into OpenMoko? Re: Digital Compass & JavaFX
Has JavaFX been released? Can you point me to JavaFX sources you would like to see running on the Neo (URLs please, Sun's websites are a real maze, almost rivaling our wiki :-))? afaik there will be JavaFX Mobile and JavaFX Script. Rest assured that we will work hard to get all this stuff running on OpenMoko. So unless all the map information or whatever information you need can fit on your phone you are not interested in it? I guess you better wait for some *really* big flash memory chips. :) The maps ARE "on board" for all common GPS car navis ("really big" 256MB-flash card e.g.). When i need to download e.g. a new country, because traveling from Germany to Spain, this info isn't based on sending my actual GPS-position to a database. Hi there, Google already offers a maps application for cell phones. Just like the web-based app, the version for my Sony Ericsson P990i downloads only images for the area surrounding your search target, and downloads additional images as you scroll the viewing area. This Google maps application supports GPS on Windows Mobile-based cellphones - I'd been inclined to assume that the Neo will be supported shortly after its release - and this would seem to be either "infringing" or prior art. Having read that patent I feel compelled to submit my latest idea to the US patent office. "A turd on a stick" We claim: 1. It is a turd 2. Re: Any OS X developers out there working with OpenMoko?
There were much more encouraging responses like yours so far than I had expected! Thank you very much. What I read from the responses: * there are more amongst us waiting for the GTA02 than GTA01 owners and developers * the main things we want to have - seamless communication (USB, Bluetooth, WLAN) - no need to run Linux in a VM in parallel (for developers this might be ok) - syncing address book should work Did I miss anything? -- hns BTW: QuantumSTEP for the Neo is making fast progress. Make sure to visit us at FOSDEM 2008 at the GNUstep booth to see it in operation. Am 25.01.2008 um 15:13 schrieb Stroller: On 25 Jan 2008, at 07:53, Dr. H. I can't say that I'll be developing for OpenMoko, but you have one tester for sure here, when GTA02 arrives. I use OS X on my desktop & laptop, and am hoping that syncronisation of contacts & diary events will work with my new phone. I had a Windows Mobile phone last and a Sony-Ericsson P990i now - experience (or lack thereof!!) with syncing these to a Mac have made me hope that open source can fulfil my needs better. Subversion 302 error -- anyone else?
If you guys have ever developed on projects.openmoko.org, the http svn server is messed up. If I ever try to add a file that is not a full directory (eg import; svn add blah; svn ci -m "test") does not work and I get the error message: svn: Commit failed (details follow): svn: PROPFIND request failed on '/svnroot/project/trunk/crosscompilation' svn: PROPFIND of '/svnroot/project/trunk/crosscompilation': 302 Found ( https://svn.projects.openmoko.org) This has happend for both my projects mokoiax and asterisk on the moko. You CAN fix this by adding: ErrorHandler 404 default In the svn http config file, so that the svn client interperts 404's a 404's and not as Redirects (which svn client sees as 'found') Thanks! -bk (sources: http://kaeso.wordpress.com/2006/08/12/subversion-doesnt-handle-302-redirection/ http://ynniv.com/blog/2005/12/troubling-svn-error.html) ___ OpenMoko community mailing list community@lists.openmoko.org http://lists.openmoko.org/mailman/listinfo/community
