New qwo version 0.5

2009-05-29 Thread Charles Clément
Hello,

A new version of qwo, 0.5 has been released. The main difference with
the previous version is color support. User can now specify the colors
to be used as foreground, background and for the lines.

Some gestures that would lead to print ? have been replaced with
appropriate letters if extending the gesture past one region.

You can download the source and binary packages, including for the dependencies,
at: http://savannah.nongnu.org/files/?group=qwo

More information available on the project page:
http://www.nongnu.org/qwo/

I would like to thank Richard Kralovic and Yaroslav Halchenko for their
contributions.

Here's the ChangeLog entry:

* Add Support fot user defined colors for letters, background and grid
* Add redundant letters in unused spot instead of ?
(Thanks to Richard Kralovic)
* Fix bug issuing a 5 when releasing a shift gesture in center region
(Thanks to Richard Kralovic)

* Update libconfig support to latest 1.3.2 version

* Remove gnome-common dependency
* Remove imlib2-config call in configure.ac
* Remove deprecated Encoding key in desktop file
* Remove double header inclusion

Re: [SHR] Suspend/Shutdown/Etc dialog is only 1 pixel wide!

2009-05-11 Thread Charles Clément
I do use the suspend button a lot, as a substitute I created an
application entry with the line:

Exec=mdbus -s org.freesmartphone.ousaged /org/freesmartphone/Usage
org.freesmartphone.Usage.Suspend

and clicking on it suspends the phone. It might be helpful to others
not wanting to switch to unstable ...

 I had this too, a few days ago. A opkg update/upgrade later and it was
 working again. I was nigh unto ecstatic to have it back, I use that suspend

Re: [all e/illume based] copy/paste

2009-04-26 Thread Charles Clément

In X you just have to make a selection to copy the text most of the
time, so if a toolkit/application let you select the text you might be
able to copy it. With qwo there is a gesture to paste such text ; from
region 4 to 6. It is based on a shortcut that in X, pressing Shift +
Insert will paste the clipboard.

  has copy/paste been discussed and some solution exist? I tried to
  search through the wiki but no luck. selecting and copying text, then
  pasting in applications doesn't seem to be really possible. The minimal
  typical scenarios would probably be from sms/email to another sms/email
  or web browser and vice-versa. Any ideas?

 Recent versions of Elementary include a support for easy copy/paste
 actions. I think it's a good example that could be ported also to other
 toolkits (wich mostly need patches, BTW).

Re: Files and types

2008-10-08 Thread Charles Clément
On Qt Extended I managed to see the pictures, by putting them in a path
that is the file type, e.g. in Documents/images/jpeg.
Now I can see them.

  If it is Qt Extended, the files have to be in a folder named Documents

 Hmm. That's where they are. I'll play around a bit more. Perhaps
 changing the names will help...

 Thank you!

 Hi,

 great. What would be the command to install the modules? dfu-util ...

You can copy the file over to the phone, ssh and do

tar xvzf modules-min-gta02-g291a9d50_mwester-stable.tgz -C /

which will populate the modules in the file system.

 Thanks  greetings,

   I am - again - new to this list after my initial contact with the Neo

   I have QT Extended running on the FR and I have some questions:

   - Suspend works but it does not wake up on incoming calls. This is a
   rather old bug. Is there any workaround?
   - what rootfs is there to use with it? Can I take any rootfs from any
   distribution? Or should I stay with 2007.2? Maybe 2008.9?
   - Scrolling with QT Extended is a bit odd. I seem to be starting
   applicans while scrolling ... Any workaround for this?

  Download Qt Extended flash image for FIC Neo Freerunner (gta02)
  version 4.4.1 from qtextended:
  http://qtextended.org/modules/mydownloads/viewcat.php?cid=6
  You need to also download the mwester kernel mentioned there, but it
  seels that mwester brew a new kernel yesterday (the qtextended link no
  longer works), so go there and download it directly for gta02:
