Re: OM2008.8, importing VCF contacts

2008-08-25 Thread Markus Schlichting

hi,
i think a little script similar to the old on on
http://www.smurfy.de/files/neo/import_contacts
 should do the job.

just for a starting point:

#!/bin/bash
export DISPLAY=:0
for contact in `ls *vcf`; do
LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/opt/Qtopia/lib /opt/Qtopia/bin/addressbook $contact
done;

didn't try it as i'm out of time :( , let me know if it was somehow useful :)

cheers markus

Re: Essay about Openmoko

2008-08-24 Thread Markus Schlichting
Hi Christian,
you can find my Bachelor Thesis (which I worte last winter, so it's a little
out of date) at
http://www.mynethome.de/2008/03/13/bachelor-of-computer-science/

Another nice article about Openmoko written by Mickey Lauer can be found in
this year's Opensource yearbook : http://www.opensourcejahrbuch.de/

Another good thing might be the Openmoko Episode of Chaosradio Express at
http://chaosradio.ccc.de/cre042.html

or, more recent, an Interveiw with Mickey Lauer at FrOsCon this weekend:
http://cms.radiotux.de/index6.php
http://radiotux.de/interviews/2008-08-23.RadioTux.Michael.Lauer.openmoko.mp3

All resources are in germany, as i assumed by your emailadress that you're
from germany, too.

Hope that helps you a little bit :)

cheers
 Markus

Is it possible to export Thunderbird Contacts as VCF files ? I don't use
thunderbird regulary, but I think it is, so you can use
http://http//wiki.openmoko.org/wiki/Import_Vcf_Contacts to import your
contacts. Used it to copy my contact from kontact :-)

Re: WLAN not working

2008-07-06 Thread Markus Schlichting
Hi,
over here wifi is up and runninng using wpa-psk. i get almost the same errors,
only missing the lines with

 ioctl[SIOCSIWENCODE]: Input/output error

- but its working. you could try running wpa_supplicant with the -dd option
(and | less, maybe) and see what the output tells you.

my wpa_supplicant.conf:

--
ctrl_interface=/var/run/wpa_supplicant
eapol_version=1
ap_scan=1

# WPA2:
network={
   ssid="myNetSSID"
   scan_ssid=1
#   proto=RSN
   key_mgmt=WPA-PSK
   pairwise=TKIP
   group=TKIP
   psk="secretpassword"
   priority=50
}
---

and in my /etc/network/interfaces

# Wired or wireless interfaces
iface eth0 inet dhcp
 wpa-conf /etc/wpa_supplicant/wpa_supplicant.conf
 wpa-driver wext

No, the Gtk based (focused?) stack used X11 as well, using Kdrive as X-Server
and matchbox as windows manager.

Hi,
I don't think so -I'm a newbie to OpenMoko and found the updated
schedule during my fist time reading the wiki. It's not so hard to find
nor is it hard to understand why the releasetimes are estimated. AFAIK
this is an Project focussed on the technical plattform instead of a
short time-to-market. Just keep that in mind.
