[Compiz] [Bug 525807] Re: [upstream] [3.2.1] OOo Slide Show and Fullscreen modes - not full screen under compiz

2011-01-24 Thread Andre
I'm using the OOo packages from proposed since several months right now.
Without any problems. Most of the negative comments here do not relate to the
package in proposed. People still trying to use workarounds, and comment on
these. What regression was introduced by the packages in proposed?
Not beeing able to give presentations is for many business users a nightmare.
And exactly these people are using LTS versions. When can we expect OOo under
Lucid to properly? Maybe the solution is to abandon OOo and switch
straightforward to LibreOffice?

[Compiz] [Bug 685682] Re: [fglrx] compiz crashed with SIGSEGV in nux::IOpenGLSurface::UnlockRect()

2011-01-24 Thread Thorsten Reinbold
Ok, to clarify: this happens with the radeon driver too. I try to start
unity since the first alpha versions, never got it work. The only thing
that has changed is that I get an Info in the latest dailys that my
hardware is not supported (ATI X600M). Compiz on 10.10 runs smooth with
the free drivers.

Thorsten: You're saying you get a crash in
nux::IOpenGLSurface::UnlockRect() when using the radeon driver? Any
other problem (like unity telling you you can't use it) is not the same
bug.

[Compiz] [Bug 657032] Re: Resize area of title bar is too small when using Compiz

2011-01-24 Thread Dylan McCall
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 160311 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/160311

Hi Vish! I'm not sure I agree with this being a duplicate :)

This is about the window decorations defined by the theme. In Ambiance,
it's particularly visible if you toggle between Metacity and Compiz and
resize a window using the area to the left of its window buttons. The
pending fixes for bug #160311 cover an invisible border (added by the
window manager regardless of theme) and a resize grip on the bottom
right of each window. The bug report itself involves a somewhat more
abstract usability issue; it's more a really important wishlist item.

This bug is certainly of less importance thanks to those fixes, but it
remains an issue. It is still more difficult than it should be to resize
a window from the top left with Compiz and the Ambiance window theme. It
isn't a massive usability issue (if all goes well), but this bug in
particular definitely corresponds to some code that isn't working
perfectly.
