obviously, I can't move the windows into another desktop by hitting the side of the screen in unity, can I? so, I cannot test the original problem properly. but I tried with the workspace switcher, that worked alright. grouping windows is not friends with the SCALE plugin, if I select a groupped window, just that one is raised, the other one(s) not. but the worst is that when I tried to close the frouped windows, it crashed compiz (and unity). but that is a different problem, several compiz plugins are troublesome in unity... -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of compiz packagers, which is subscribed to compiz in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/587696 Title: Compiz: Moving grouped windows into another Desktops has a strange behaviour ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~compiz Post to : compiz@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~compiz More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Compiz] [Bug 670430] [NEW] gtk-window-decorator: VISUAL CORRUPTION of the window titlebar with the default Maverick Ambience theme
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: compiz if I open a window that is not maximized and there's a maximized window under it, in some occasions the titlebar goes corrupted. the thing is that it should fade, because that maximized window loses the focus, but it doesn't fade. if u hover over the titlebar with the non-maximized window (that now has the focus), only then it starts looking how it should, but only the area where you have hovered over it with the window with focus. this looks quite ugly, moreover this shouldn't happen with the default theme, should it? I say "some occasions" because I haven't been able to figure out, which "class" of windows (that are in focus) causes this. but if a window does this, it will do it always when opened, other widnows will never do it. (the Power Management Preferences window does it, the About Nautilus window does not...) check the screencast, it's more self-explanatory!!! Thanx a lot... [Compiz] [Bug 587696] Re: Compiz: Moving grouped windows into another Desktops has a strange behaviour
The reason why I though it's a bug is that it doesn't always have this behaviour. Usually grouped windows behave as expected (at least by me): if I minimise or restore one, the other one gets minimised or restored too, moving them into another workspace doesn't suddenly hide the other one behind another window and their position is mutually fixed. I posted a bug because it doesn't always perform the same behaviour, it's not that I wasn't satisfied with it. Can you give the a link on that forum? [Compiz] [Bug 587693] [NEW] Compiz: moving tabbed windows into another Desktop changes their mutual distance and position
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: compiz This happens using the Desktop wall. The Wobbly effect is not the reason, cause I've tried without, with the same result. In another words, ONE OF THE WINDOWS MOVES FASTER than the other one. I've realized that when moving a single window and doing it fast, many times the cursor ends up in a different position to the window than where it was when I grabbed the window in the original Desktop. This might have something in common with this problem. However, with grouped windows this is far more notable. So I guess that solving the single- window problem might solve this one too. I think, compiz somehow misreads the X, Y coordinates. Check the video... Has the single-window problem been reported already? [Compiz] [Bug 587106] [NEW] Compiz: actions assigned to screen edges or corners sometimes not working after startup
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: compiz I have assigned the Widget layer to the Left edge+Button2, but many times this function is not activated at startup, I have to restart compiz to get that working. Scale edge assigned to Right corner+Button 2 doesn't suffer from this problem. I used to have an action assigned to all the 4 corners. If it happened that some of them was not active at startup, those were nearly always 2 neighbouring corners. Rarely just 1, but the problem was happening frequently. This only happens at startup; if I restart compiz, this never happens. It's difficult for me to find the reason, what is it connected to. BUT GENERALLY, I FIND THE LEFT SIDE OF THE SCREEN, INCLUDING THE CORNERS LESS STABLE THAN THE REMAINING EDGES, IN TERMS OF ASSIGNING MOUSE ACTIONS TO IT. [Compiz] [Bug 583142] [NEW] compiz window opening animation in case of some maximized windows not fluent
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: compiz Opening a maximized nautilus or chromium window is not fluent. Other programs are OK. It looks like compiz does not realize in time that the window should be maximized, so it tries to open an unmaximized window, the maximization only comes during the process of opening, so it has to perform another animation (window maximization) with the wobbly effect in my case. Doing 2 animations at the same time causes the opening animation to not be fluent. This happens in 75% of the cases. Unfortunately, nautilus & chromium are the 2 most used programmes in my case. [Compiz] [Bug 427097] Re: gnome-panel reappears in full screen mode after resolution change with compiz
I'm facing the very same problem, but not with wine. I tried to have a full screen eclipse and the gnome panel is above my eclipse window. On the other hand it seems to be working with gnome-terminal and file browser -- gnome-panel reappears in full screen mode after resolution change with compiz https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/427097 You received this bug notification because you are a member of compiz packagers, which is subscribed to compiz in ubuntu. ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~compiz Post to : compiz@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~compiz More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
